motosapiens
Thank you. Sounds pretty grueling... Yeah. Sounds like a great idea. Looking to improve grip strength so I'm going to a workout that causes pulmonary edema. Great idea. At least it's safer (but not nearly as fun) compared my suggestion to build grip strength, which is to race dirtbikes in the desert.
biglou13
I'm surprised no one mentioned "Pinch grip lifts" Easy as grabbing a 45 # plate and standing. Or 2..... Now try the same with 2 25# plates ** Now try 2- 5 10# plates Smooth sides out.. In this range you can add wrist ROM, And add front lateral/side raises, with different hand positions Simple and cheap from used sporting goods store. The dowel one is good to add degree of difficulty try with larger diameter dowel or pvc. Favorite grip training, ....... Rock climbing gym!!! RadioFlyer
As a rock climber who is trying to get into the shooting sports, I suggest anyone look at climbing as an activity to work out your forearms, tendons and shoulders. Any climbing specific workout will help as well.
CanonSterVA
Like others have said, and as I have in the past, Captains of Crush can not be beat. Flat out in possible. Barring that do: Farmers walks Shrugs Dead Lifts Cable Rope Curls Rope Flailing or what it's called when you move a rope up and down Hell ANY HEAVY pulling Excersize What I call double curls. Curl a dumbbell, then twist at the top for a reverse curl on the way down. Take two weight plates and pinch them between your thumb and the other fingers as long as you can. Buddy I know who played in the show for 6 years for the Royals said the trainers used big barrels of rice for grip training. Go elbow deep into the rice open and close your fist till you can't anymore for a couple of sets each arm. Said it was brutal but worked. The double curl is a real good forearm burner. Also enjoy doing a wrist curl with the bar behind my back. Myron
