  1. I have been reloading 38 Special on an RL1050B since 1988 and 38 Super on a Super 1050 since 2006. I also have a couple of XL650’s for 9mm and rifle. The quick answer to your question….the Super1050 has a longer stroke length for rifle cartridge reloading and has a different bottom crank assembly. I have not heard of a 1050XL. They are all great presses and will not disappoint.
  2. Thanks Richard…your response is outstanding…I really appreciate it. Cheers, Greg
  3. Looks like these have grips have some really good potential…anyone tried them out ? They certainly have an aggressive looking texture.. https://www.shootingsportsinnovations.com%2F1911-bite-grips%2F&usg=AOvVaw0v2Epv09Z57EabY3sYvPuS&opi=89978449
  4. I have a couple of XL650 tool heads setup that way and find that the ammo produced is fine…I even use a FCD on one 9mm setup !
  5. Hey !.....that looks like mine do. I just give them a quick file and polish....and then load.
  6. 231 and WST will do the job for you.
  7. Well Smitty.... I am glad that I am not the only one who has this issue. From time to time it seems that one needs to clean out the casefeeder bowl and re-seat the plate. I have fewer issues on one 650 with 9mm if I clean every 3 months or 3000 rounds. YMMV
  8. Sounds like Emirates has struck again..
  9. I have had great results with Dillon Case Lube…the lanolin seems to retard the leading and cleaning is a bit easier. I use it in my NRA Action guns when I cheap out on non-jacketed practice ammo. YMMV
  10. No return springs needed on that bullet feeder die ! Looks impressive.
  11. Yep…I hundo them and set any failed rounds aside. When I get to the end of the bin I just run the fails back through the FCD and try them back in the hundo. Two time fails are treated as rejects.
  12. I have Grand Slam kits on both my XL650’s and could not be happier with the results. Great products.
  13. Anti-spatter spray does not do anything better than DCL or OneShot ….Even straight Lanolin spray (Lanotec) works just fine at reducing the rate of buildup and makes cleaning easier. I guess it just comes down to convenience and cost. My home brewed case Lube (Lanolin and alcohol) works great for Minor and Major loads.
  14. If you give the comp ports a quick squirt of Dillon Case Lube every 50 or so shots… The comp shows less buildup and is easier to clean. Hornady OneShot will do much the same…
  15. The double return springs on the older style powder thrower will squeak, a drop of oil on the looped ends makes the noise stop.
  16. N330 is fine for minor loads and seems to be the preferred 9mm PPC powder for light bullets.
  17. Well it's all done and won....Bruce P 1920 178x, Mark B 1920 178x, Doug K 1918 182x......just proves that long range X's are important ! Bruce is the Champion. Results are on the CMP website.
  18. The premier action pistol event of the year is scheduled for 23 to 26 May at Green Valley Pistol and Rifle Club. Good luck to all who compete, great times and safe travels to all who attend and thanks to all the fantastic sponsors who support our sport.
  19. Flitz is not going to do the job, ceramic stones are probably your best bet.
  20. Can you elaborate on this ? I know it can be a bit slower in bullet speed in Hot weather. Thanks.
  21. I read this in the MBF instructions….then used the top set of holes for everything other than 85gr .355 Sierra HP’s
  22. It is simple…a Dillon case feeder will improve your production by about 100% with virtually no extra effort. The mini Mr Bulletfeeder will give you about an extra 50% with nominal additional effort…filling the tubes is not a big chore…get two magazines and you can do over 200 rounds between breaks..that usually takes me 10 minutes of actual reloading time…5 minutes to refill the magazines, top up powder and refill primer tube and go again. ymmv
  23. Yep…it did work..but no better than the Dillon Case Lube….Lanolin Spray from O’Reillys works great too.
  24. Spray some Dillon Case Lube into the ports of the comp every 50 shots…the rate of lead buildup is reduced and cleaning is much easier. One Shot will achieve much the same result.
  25. Does anyone know if someone else has visions of commercially reproducing the Perman 1920 grips ?
