Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Hey thanks mate. Yeah I use the 6.5mm high front sight (5.5mm comes on the gun from factory) with the factory fixed SP01 rear sights, shoots POA/POI. I'd be interested in the adjustable rear, so your recomendation on 170T will get me started. Cheers, Ando.
  2. What height front sight are you running with this sight to shoor POA/POI?

    CZ TS conversion

So with some reserch, including the great advice here, this is where I'm at. I have a CZ TS in 40 & 357sig. I can fit a 9mm barrel & run 9mm on the 40 slide. The breach faces are different on both 9mm & 40. May require a 9mm extractor, whick is the same 9mm extractor part for all 9mm CZ's. Have heard folks fitting an SP01 mag release into TS & running SP01/75/85 mags with reliability. Now to source the TS 9mm barrel here in Austalia. Cheers, Ando.

    CZ TS conversion

Finally some first hand decent advice. Thanks very much folks. I'll try the barrel option first. Cheers, Ando.

    CZ TS conversion

CZ TS conversion. I have a CZ TS in 40 & 357sig. Are the 40 & 9mm slide & breach faces same. Can I fit a 9mm barrel & will it run reliably with 9mm? Possibly change out extractor & use 9mm mags.
  6. Excellent mate. So I can buy a competitive PD gun & shoot it at the same match in both PD & MD. Just comply with holster requirements. Previously, was led to belive I needed 2 seperate guns, despite being both PD legal.
  7. So what do we think of the Tanfoglio Stock II/III? Factory adjustable sights, nice heavy full dust covered gun/ with longer sight radius than CZ? Can I shoot the same gun in Production Division & then use the same gun at the same match in Metallic Division? Of do I need to have 2 seperate guns, possibly identical?
  8. Yep, your problem is you are using everything, but the right grips. Piss the aluminium & VZ grips off & put CZ OFM "Factory" SP01 rubber grips on the gun. They are great, fill your hand well, definately help with recoil control (as does the wide safeties when shooting strong/weak hand)& absorbs some of the feedback through the gun, which aluminium/steel can not do. Get the OFM rubber grips back on your CZ & enjoy shooting a great gun.
  9. LPA has the best fully adjustable revolver rear sight on the market. I liked the Weigand, but after it became loose as mentioned above, got rid of it. Honestly, a S&W factory rear sight, with a medium/tall blade, will get the job done well. They may wobble slightly, but nowhere near a loose Weigand.
  10. I load a 135 LRN (lead round nose) in all my 38 revolver loads with ADI's AP50. Very happy.
  11. I've found 38 short colts in a moonclipped gun to be the fastest & most reliable relaod, without any noticable lack of accuracey, in a S&W 627 38/357. For a Classic gun using speed loaders, 38 long colt would be the minimum length, for speed & reliability, in a S&W 686 38/357. I load both my short colts & long colts on a Dillon 550. Stage #1 38/357 die. Stage #2 9mm powder funnel. Stage #3 9mm die. Stage #4 9mm die crimped hard.

    accu shadow

All my CZ 75 SP01 Shadow's (I've had 4) came with 5.5mm hight front sights & needed to be swapped for 6.5mm high front sights. Some required a slight skim off the front sight height to come onto POA/POI. There were Australian compliant Shadows with Aussie length barrels, so this may/may not have an effect on POA/POI?
  13. Welcome to the club. Most of the best IPSC/USPSA shooters in the World, have been DQed sometime in their shooting carrer's. You are in good company. Sounds like you have learnt from your DQ, & are taking it quite hard. Keep at it & enjoy. Be safe.
  14. As mentioned above. Given a consistant grip & pressure. You can tune the gun for POI with a recoil spring change. If you are coming back on target & stopping high, install a heavier recoil spring. If you are coming back on target & the gun is stopping lower than ideal sight picture, install a lighter recil spring. This is tuned to a particular load, so a change in ammo, may require you to go through the same process again.
