Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. When i went digging it did not appear to be a broken stud but honestly did not look that close at that part ...i believe it is the double action sear ....will dig in again and see for sure ....broke the trigger stud a few years ago so could be
  2. After 10 years and somewhere between 30k and 40k rounds I believe I have worn out my 610. It was a pawn shop purchase so don't know history before me but I know I have put it through the ringer. Was shooting local match and partway through stage 4 of 6 the hammer stopped coming back ...cylinder spins and locks up tight ....went to safe area and did not see anything obviously broken (NO PARTS FELL OUT) reassembled and still would not work ...two days later picked it up and it worked like nothing was wrong ..took it to range and ran about 80 rounds through it before could duplicate issue ....trip to my local smith is in its future and before suggestions are made ...already tried to talk to wife into a 8 shot but she's not buying it.
  3. I use bmt as well and for my 610 works fine...200 grain 40's
  4. found it hoppner and shcumann speed sec 5cw ....daa has them for autos
  5. I wish i could remember the name of the holster I started using for my 610 ..I know mine is a knock off ...got it on clearance years ago...it is a hanger style that only covers trigger guard ...i believe it is german design ....anyway the good thing about it is that the lock is a lever in back and down is locked adn up in unlocked so you can sweep it up as you draw if you have to do any running or standing right from start...my wife is using it now since it is reversable for leftys and doesnt seen to have any trbl with it.
  6. signed up to shoot friday and work saturday ...not certified but experienced in everything.
  7. bought some of sns's 220 to try in my 610 revolver but the 200 rn work so well have not worked up a load...the sluggishness of slide should not be issue in the wheelgun
  8. Havent switched to 8 shot myself but i do know of at least one guy in the area i shoot in still using 38 special brass...at least last time we shot revolvers (both of us wandering to bottom feeders a bit)
  9. a little off topic but for everyone using titegroup are you seeing any gas cutting of topstrap yet. years ago when i was first shooting revolver out of 3" k frame with 158 plated round nose i had to push charge to make minor (3" barrel was also slower than it should have been) and ended up doing a good bit of gas cutting with titegroup.
  10. If all goes per plan my wife will be there shooting with me but that cruise idea sounds good too.
  11. ok Here is how we played it ....i had a 6 shot minor gun(dont ask) and the other revolver shooter had a 8 shot minor gun i started in 5 he started with 7 ..i shot one target from another array and one from first array and reloaded and shot last six from first array and went on about my business...8 shot started with 7 and did a reload moving to first array to have a full gun....both our empty chambers were under the hammer..oh yeah he was mooncliped and my 6 shot minor gun did not use moonclips..work quite well for both of us although my plan was overly complicated came off ok.
  12. just realized on another stage in the match we have 6 shots on mini poppers from prone ...plan a dont miss..plan b glad i keep a spare moon on my side...we will see how comfortable laying on the northmountain holder will be
  13. Asking the match director was the plan just wanted to see what others had run into with similar start positions. Thanks for the insight
  14. We just got the stage descriptions for upcoming local match and one of the starts is a bit different and not sure how it will translate to revolver. start position is gun with magazine inserted and hammer down on empty chamber and holstered. Still running a six shooter and trying so sort out if that would mean starting with 5. The guy who puts those matches on always comes up with interesting stages and keeps thing fresh with new ideas and is still considerate of all divisions so I suspect he knows how revolvers will start this but was looking to see what others thought before asking him.
