Looks for Match

Looks for Match (2/11)

  1. Pretty much stuck with 1.135 due to magazine length.
  2. Yea, isn't that funny I am the same way, something is holding me back with attacking he SX2 with the files and dremel, but I have no problem going and buying a Stoeger and tearing into it..........
  3. Hey all, Just getting back into the 3-gun after about a 6 year break. (Back when a side-saddle and an arm band shell holder was the norm). Looking at all the new Shotgun and mods, is seems the Winchesters were left behind. With the new loading techniques and the mods done to the gun I haven't been able to find too many posts that show mods done to the SX2/SX3. If anybody has any pictures as to what they did to the load gate, loading port and forearm that would be great. The gun did have a new front sight/rear sight installed, but other than that it is a 8+1 stock gun. Plans so fa,r are to send the piston in to get sealed, and get the oversized bolt, slide release, +2 Mag tube. The other idea I am toying with is sell the SX2, and get a ready to run Stoeger M3000, (I have a 2000 I use for duck/geese I really like) Thanks
  4. I watched his YouTube videos and liked what I saw. I spent close to 30 minutes with him on the phone going over the trigger and what I wanted it to feel like when it was installed. The previous owner of the gun had put a modified trigger assembly in it, when you held the trigger to the rear after the shot for the reset, the sear would disengage from the striker, basically full auto. I put a new trigger bar/sear in it but didn't like the mushy trigger I was left with.
  5. The one you are willing to pay for and what you want it to feel like....... They are all good, that is like asking what is a better pickup Ford or Chevy? DK and GlockTriggers are in the vendor section, you can't go wrong with either, if you Google Glock trigger mods, you will find more than you want to research. I just went with a Johnnyglocks custom trigger for my G24. Do a search in the Glock section on triggers and you will find more info than you care to read.

    THIS SPRING?

Looks like the recoil spring in my G42
  7. I know priority mail is 3 days, but dang it, when I order gun parts, and am excited to get them and work on some modifications. I wanted them yesterday...... Just saying.... The faster our technology is the longer some things seem to take.
  8. So I am slowly putting together another AR. I have one for 3-gun, with the 300AAC fad going around my interest is peaked in a .30cal AR. I always have to be different and am liking the ballistics of the WT, besides I don't plan on spending the money for a suppressor and stamp that is necessary for those subsonic loads the 300aac was built for. So, with that, has anyone built one? What I am most interested in, is if the modified magazine is a must. If I am only a few rounds short of a full mag, it wouldn't be the first time!!! Having to buy the the modified magazines isn't a deal breaker, but if I don't have too then even better. Thanks for any info!
  9. I have been loading 4.4 - 4.5gr of Titegroup with 180 Montana gold's and WSP primers. I just test fired a batch of Power Pistol loads that I like, and think I am going to try them for a while. I ended up with 5.7gr of PP, 180gr MG's, and WSP primers loaded at 1.135. Put me at a comfortable 168pf, out of a G24 & Lone Wolf Barrel.
  10. Hey great match you had on the 24th!!!! I really enjoyed it! I will be coming back on the monthly matches when I can. Hard to make the Monday practice matches, coming down from Grand Forks! See ya next month!
  11. Living in Grand Forks and would like to get back into the shooting after a year plus off! Anybody shooting the FARGO MOORHEAD PRACTICAL SHOOTING ASSN. - IPSC69, club? Match dates - times? Thanks DW
  12. Yea, Nice setup, but what about the Harley that is missing it's saddle bags and what looks like a fender in the first picture>
  13. Maybe we should go over to the Humor section and start our own Fly Swatter Club?
  14. Wasn't sure if I should put this in here or in the accomplishments----- Anyways, at the range for quarterly qualifications; we were working on ball and dummy training, (we each load two mags for your partner with live rounds and dummy rounds). Then proceed to draw and fire, working on trigger control and sight picture and clearing FTF's at the seven yard line. As I am working mine which happened to be a dummy round, the Firearms instructor is next to me and we both for some reason notice a large fly land on my target. I have to give it a try. Draw down on it, pull the trigger (luckily it was a live round and not a dummy )and the fly is gone (I know I saw it splat), the instructor is even pretty sure it has been hit. Proceed to the target, and there is the proof (bug goo). I cut the target piece out and laminated it for saving. Shooting my duty weapon: H&K P2000, 40S&W Couldn't do it again if I wanted too.
