Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. "all of your mags upon arrival and load them, put your rig on, and organize the rest of your stuff at your trunk, THEN to walk to a safety area and make the transfer of gun from bag/rug to holster....." Don't put loaded mags in your rig and walk up to the safety area though.
  2. I use Glockmeister +0 base pads and they are $9.00 each. The mounting lip would break off if you dropped a full mag on a concrete floor on the early version. They have beefed up the lips on the newer version. I try not to drop a full mag on concrete anymore so I realy haven't "tested" the new version. I have 10 of them. YMMV
  3. Both is the way to go. I would love to own a Hammerli as well.
  4. The Hammerli is a serious bullseye gun (note the factory supplied test target). I don't know what model that is but some you can replace the top-end with a .32 caliber top-end to shoot centerfire bullseye as well. I wouldn't use the Hammerli as a plinker or steel challenge gun because of the precious trigger. YMMV
  5. Check the plunger and the striker. Remove them from the slide and check the groove on the striker where the plunger rides. You may see a "contact" area on the striker more than the plunger. There is also the "shake" test where you shake the firearm back and forth (unloaded of course). With the striker in the fired position (rack the slide to cock it then pull the trigger to release the striker)you should hear the striker sliding or bouncing front to back. If you don't hear the striker bouncing back and forth something is dragging.
  6. Any contact between the striker and safety plunger? I had a plunger that was rounded and polished and the trigger bar tang that pushes on it was thinned and polished, they would slip past each other and the plunger wouldn't clear the striker every time.

    Glock Problem

Had the same issue with my SJC open gun in 07, called SJC and sent it to them. Problem solved. Did they tell you what the problem was?

    Glock Problem

I am having the same problem with a gun I put together. I used a ccf frame and slide and they fit realy well together (tight). I thought I had too much recoil spring. Then I thought maybe the firing pin was sliping off the trigger bar if the slide and frame fit was loose but it isn't. The gun will fire a few rounds, eject the brass, load another round but the trigger isn't reset. Everytime I cycle the gun by hand the trigger will reset. I still wonder if I run some hotter ammo, (still below or at major pf) that will solve the problem. Rupie please post what you find out. Thanks

    22lr open

Flyin, What ammo are you using? What velocity? I am trying Remington Yellow Jackets. They are 1500 fps. My .22 open is Glock based and I am working thru some issues with the C-more mount and ejection problems. A fellow shooter was shooting a Kimber (I think) conversion on a 1911 and the fireballs from his .22 ammo (Federal Game Shock)were pretty big. I'm thinking velocity may cure some of my issues.
  11. JMO I'm not a B or above shooter but I am a big fan of lightened slides. I shoot a lightened slide on a Lim-10 gun. I have an open minor steel gun that I loved too shoot, had a nice load for it and finally had it running great (actually shoot steel pretty well with it). Thought "this would be a great gun if I could lighten it up for faster transitions and I could drop the PF a little" Sent the slide off, came back, nice work, gun is sexy. But it shoots like crap now! I can't get that same feel back. The "nice load" seems crappy now and I only have 3000 more of them loaded. I don't know if the slide is moving faster causing more muzzle flip, if I put in a heavier spring the loaded rounds won't cycle the gun. I dropped the bullet weight with a touch more powder and the gun shoots flat but loud and it's slappy now. I should have left it alone (but what fun is that) YMMV
  12. OK, so I received my i-Kam extreme 3.0 today. I opened the box and the first thing I noticed were the lenses are tiny. I didn't notice that when looking at an on-line picture of them and I am surprised nobody that has them commented on that. I don't know if an RO would say anything but I don't feel they are adequate protection for your eyes. The second thing, when you are recording there is a blue light at the corner that blinks. Maybe outside in daylight you won't notice it much but inside in dim light it is annoying. They are a little snug on the head but I have a semi-mellon head. Another thing that disturbed me as soon as I looked at the instructions was a statement "DO NOT record toward the sun as damage to the camera may result" and "DO NOT expose device to rain or moisture as damage may result". Now I'm not looking for deep sea goggles but I sweat like a pig on hot sunny days. I may look up the return policy from where I purchased. YMMV And they don't work well with traditional "ear muff" hearing protection. I thought about switching to ear plugs anyway but you would have to with these. And with the lenses being so small I found myself looking under them when loading mags, turning on the cmore, checking for empty chamber, that sort of stuff.
  13. I use 4.2 of TG with a MG 180 in a Glock 35 (it was a load for a G22 but I switched to a G35). I didn't realize TG is spikey. I was using Clays and everyone told me I shouldn't use that for a Glock so I went to TG. I considered switching to VV 340 or 320 but they are a little pricey and finding it is harder. YMMV I guess I'll save the TG for minor loads.
  14. Hammar, What benefits do you think the video gives you (what do you learn from it)? The camera angle is too far off for a sight picture but I guess it shows where you are looking and how you transition and shoot a stage. I am having some ejection problems with my open gun and I hope with these glasses I can catch what is happening. I go to an indoor range to function fire my guns so hopefully with stationary slow fire the video will help diagnose the ejection problem.
  15. All the prices were $169.00 + shipping and everybody had the Camo ones. I did find a pair of Black for $159.00 + $3.00 shipping ( ) so I ordered them. Should be here any day now.
