  1. I agree with the over complicating. After several years in the PRS/rifle world, I did everything I could to simplify my process. Some guys took 3 hours to load a round with all the extreme prep and weight sorting and what not. Didn’t seem to truly matter much if you even cleaned primer pockets, let alone weight sorted the bullets. I’m still trying to understand the point of the new roll sizer decapper and all the people that purposely load pistol with multiple passes. I’m not really clear on how this helps with anything. I dump brass in a wet tumbler and dry it every so often but make sure to always have a bucket or two of cleaned brass waiting to be loaded. The rifle world says sizing before cleaning can wear out your dies prematurely. When I’m ready to load, I dump everything in my automated 1050 and hit go. Never had an issue. I thought the point of progressive presses and high dollar stuff was to be more efficient. Why create extra steps and work? Just my thoughts. To each his own though.
  2. I’m a uspsa shooter and have been for years. That being said, it’s a game that happens to use a pistol. That’s it. If you’re really good at it, basic pistol skills certainly transfer to all things with a pistol. It certainly won’t hurt. I argue with those on the tactical side (like these guys on the podcast) that it’s not meant to be tactical anything and “won’t get you killed in the streets,” if you shoot uspsa. That being said, I’ve seen a growing number of uspsa shooters, mainly on the internet, that have started acting like they are a one man, blackest ops, ninja because they’re decent at uspsa. Just as I argue for uspsa to “tactards,” I’m tired of being quiet when it’s the reverse. Most self defense shooting happen very quickly and at close range. If a guy who has barely any shooting skills is 3 yards from you and he has his gun out first, chances are you GM card is worthless. If there’s anything more than a sudden close range shooting that ends in 2 seconds, tactics are a huge part. A GM card doesn’t make up for tactics. I’ve also noted that all the training I’ve done in the military and LE, the accuracy standard has also been more strict than a full size A zone. Usually half an A zone at best. Bottom line is, they’re two different things. One doesn’t make you awesome at the other. I agree that many cops aren’t the best shooters. There’s many other things that are mandated every year in training and shooting is only a tiny portion. I’m not saying it’s right, it’s just how it is. That being said, I know many cops are are very good shooters. You can also be a good shooter and not place well at your first few matches. A teammate of mine is prior force recon and can definitely shoot. He gives me a run for my money at work all the time. He’s shot one match and I smoked him. It wasn’t due to poor shooting, it was because he doesn’t have any experience in the game and the type of movement, rules, etc . He hasn’t shot many more matches because he’s just not super into it. He doesn’t like spending 5 hours at a range to shoot for a total of 3 minutes. He also has a wife and kids and has a lot of other stuff he has to do since his work week prevents a lot of family time. It’s not because he’s some dumb cop that can’t shoot and gets butt hurt at competition shooting. I know many guys who’d like to compete but they’re stuck working weekends for years on end. It makes me sad see a growing disdain for LE or Mil or anything that has to do with a profession that uses firearms just because theirs world isn’t uspsa. Final point I’ll take pranka, Lockwood, Panone, smith, etc., over Sailer to help me out in a tactard environment any day. While I’ve met and trained with Sailer, his uspsa skills don’t mean all that much. Conversely, the other guys are good at uspsa (not champs) but are much more well rounded. I’d take them over someone who thinks the stress of a timer and a match is equivalent to a gunfight even though it’s cardboard you got to plan for during a 5 minute walk through. I was only a grunt marine that fought in fallujah and current swat cop at a large city. I’m nothing special. Uspsa has helped me with basic pistol handling, but the stuff I did in fallujah and the 4 shootings I’ve been in as a cop had nothing similar to uspsa other than using a pistol in 3 of them. To me it sounds like people saying they’re good at horse means they could beat a whole NBA team because both games involve a basketball. If you’re good an NFL 2020 on play station, you probably should tell NFL players they’re worthless. Bottom line, people on both sides need to get off their high horses and be happy people are pro gun. rant complete.
  3. That’s awesome, thank you. Now I have to ask what type of connectors/couplings you’re using. The parts that came with the rollsizer probably won’t connect straight to a spring. When I zoom it it gets blurry. Is that a section to rubber tube that holds the spring to the feeder?
  4. Tucker. Unknown mutt we rescued. Around 1 year old.
  5. I’ve flown with guns many times. Most of the time with a layover. Never had any issues so far. Most airlines mark the bag because they usually get sent to the office to be picked up instead of being tossed on the carousel.
  6. Perfect, I haven’t shot IDPA in years. I may have to try it again now that my duty gun is finally legal.
  7. Does this mean the 4.4 is now CO legal?

    AXG Grip?

I’ve been shooting X5’s for a year or two. Love the guns but the grip is a little big for me. Got the axg with Lok brass grips a couple days ago. I’ve only been able to dryfire with it so far but love the grip. It fits me far better than the TXG. It seems to point more naturally for me and is easier to have a consistent grip on the draw. The trigger reach is slightly shorter which I appreciate as well since I have little girl hands. As long as it doesn’t somehow make the gun recoil like an elephant gun, I think it’s a win for me. I didn’t have a plastic retainer thing either.
  9. This is all news to me. I have 5 P320’s of various X-5 models. I have two for USPSA that have over 15,000 rounds each. I load on an automated Dillon 1050 and have never had a ruptured case or any problems at all. I left open and went back to carry optics primarily because I was tired or tinkering with the open guns and mags and getting a ruptured case or two due to my cheapness. I’ve always just loaded the x-5’s and shot. Mags are all 23 reloadable and the guns haven’t needed anything other than spring changes. I guess I’ve been lucky for once. Very interesting nonetheless.
  10. Yes, you can co witness, but the great majority don’t have any irons at all since you don’t need them.
  11. Any update on this? Any solid info about the 4.4" P DUO being legal? What about a C2 DUO?
  12. According to a recent Wilson Combat email blast, their version of the P320 is IDPA and USPSA approved for production and carry optics because they've produced over 2000. Anyone know if this is true? Does this only apply to a complete gun from them or is the grip module (that I thought was previously outlawed due to the build in magwell) now okay to use?
  13. Depends on the ammo actually. Many times it’s the opposite. That’s one of several reasons why short barrels AR’s are used 99% of the time. All of our MP-5s and other subguns spend most of their time in the racks.
  14. I've used one shot for a long time but just got a bottle of the pistol brass lube from brass juice. Seems to work pretty good so far.
  15. I believe you’re correct. Or I read the same post you did. That being said, I have a CZ custom S2 and F4E S2 that are pretty amazing.
  16. True, but with all the prior talk of open and production, I assumed this was focused on USPSA. My mistake.
  17. Got some replacement screws. Nothing further needed. Thanks again.
  18. Ha! Trigger set screw was it. Should have checked that before taking the whole thing apart. I’m an idiot. Noticed I lost my overtravel set screw. Anyone know of a place to get one? Thanks for the help!
  19. I recently switched to the shadow 2 and don’t know the internals as well as some other guns. I was at the range today when the gun suddenly developed a trigger issues. I have about 5k rounds on the gun and bought it used. It was used very little before I got it. It has the Cajun trigger kit installed. The issue is that the trigger suddenly doesn’t work in double action. Had just loaded the gun and manually decocked before holstering. Nothing felt strange. Upon drawing and attempting to shoot, the trigger moves without the hammer. I noticed that I could pull the hammer back about a millimeter and heat and feel a click. The trigger works at that clock. It is not the half cock position as I can still pull the hammer back further and have it stop at half cock. So there are now 4 positions. Where it rests after being decocked or dry fired, the first click where it works, half cock, and fully cocked. I took the gun apart and can’t figure out why this is happening yet. Any help would be appreciated.
