Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. For just starting I don't see a reason to jump to shadow 2. Make sure he likes going to the competitions before spending double the money. I said jump to the SP-01 as at a $100 more I thought it was a pretty good deal as I can find them around me at that price.
  2. Personally I would go SP-01. Have one and love it.
  3. I believe if made in 2011 they came with extra barrels still. I just bought a new czechmate parrot and it did not come with extra barrels. I received an extra slide stop and some pins. Did not come with springs or anything else. Mine also came with a thumb rest which I am not seeing in your pictures but early ones may not have came with them as I saw multiple threads looking for a thumb rest to fit the czechmate. As for the sight I would just call CZCustom and ask them which to use. Ask for Stuart as he is a member on the forum and very knowledgeable.

Like I mentioned in another thread, I took my slide and frame apart and put some grease on the rails and went shooting.
  5. I am gonna keep an eye out for a czechmate. Beginning of the year I will probably look more seriously for another. I am surprised that CZ sends the USA whatever is leftover. I figured we would be one of their biggest markets.
  6. When I got mine I just took the slide off the frame and wiped off whatever oil I could from there and then applied some grease. Oil just shoots out of holes and other areas when you shoot it for the first little while. If you really want all the oil out of it before shooting it I know break parts cleaner would do it but I wouldn't as then you just have to reapply it. Doesn't hurt anything to have some extra oil in there if you ask me. The excess quickly leaves once shot. I went out and shot another 200 rounds today and if I do my part it shoots one hole groups. Still getting used to the red dot but I am happy with my groups so far. I am jealous of the three acquired haha. Where did you find the czechmate? I am considering picking up another at some point as I think I prefer the grip I can get on these compared to the 2011. I took my 2011 out today and liked the czechmate more. Granted I do not have a comp on the 2011 yet but I was shooting factory ammo which everyone says makes the comp useless. 2011 felt a lot snappier in the hand and less controlled.
  7. Alright, when I go shooting again today or tomorrow I will have to try this. I guess looking at target and seeing dot on it would essentially come out the same as making sure the dot is same place in the lens for accuracy.
  8. I plan on going shooting again tomorrow so will have to see if I understand what you are saying. Where the dot is in lens has to matter. If you don't try to get the dot back to where it was on the previous shot then people wouldn't worry about working up loads to get the dot to move less on recoil for a faster follow up shot. I am not concentrating on the dot when I pull the trigger.
  9. Competition gun. Found a few places around where I live that shoot USPSA. Just have to get a reloading press and will be able to start going to matches soon. Pretty sure the foot low left was the c-more since my SP-01 shoots true to aim and pretty similar frame/grip. Either way gun is shooting pretty close to where I intend to shoot now haha
  10. Well I went to the indoor range today and put 100 rounds through it. First ammo through was some 115 grain at 1180fps. Cycled great in open configuration and slide locked back on empty. Now the gun was shooting over a foot low and to the left (at 5 yards). After sitting there for 20 minutes trying to find the correct way to adjust the c-more I got it sighted in and shooting one hole groups except maybe a flier here or there. Bought another box of ammo and decided to try 124 grain. Shot just as reliably. I pushed the target out to 15 yards and had to sight it in just a little more as it was shooting to the left a little still. Realized I need more practice with using the c-more as this is my first time ever using a red dot sight on anything. My groups definitely opened up at 15 yards but was starting to concentrate on where to hold the dot in the lens for a steady POI/POA. I am very impressed with the gun so far. Nothing to compare it to in an open gun but it is great to shoot. So now the journey begins into getting better and to a competition to shoot.
  11. Nope it came on the right side. I just unscrewed the set screw and put it on the left side of the gun.
  12. It did come with a thumb rest. But doesn't fit the smaller holes in the mount? Fits with the 3 mount holes.
  13. Here are some pictures of the Czechmate. If there's anything specific you were wanting to see just let me know and I will work on getting it taken. I am very surprised with how tight the slide to frame fit is on the gun. It takes a little effort to push the slide back onto frame. Best fitting slide and frame I've ever seen on a factory gun. Also, when I had it apart I did a quick wipe down and put some slip 2000 EWG on it and that made racking it a lot smoother than whatever oil came on it from the factory.
  14. My new Czechmate Parrot. Hope I can figure out how to get picture to post.
  15. Uh let me figure out how to get pics uploaded here and take some. I don't have a camera so will just be cell phone pics. I will try to get some done today.
