Looks for Match

Looks for Match (2/11)

  1. I'm going the green lock tite solution first. If it's still fussy i'm gonna go with spot welds. Thanks all! FYI: as a good reference for other PCC shooters looking for a replacement bolt weight retaining pin, i've posted the pins i just received and seem to work well. They feel MUCH tighter than the OEM pin. This in conjunction with green lock tite should do the trick... i think. U39140.025.0087 41LW72 31163201 1/4" by 7/8" Steel Coiled Spring Pin https://www.grainger.com/product/41LW72?cm_mmc=EMT-_-10376092-_-ShippingConf2018NavBar-_-OnlineGuest-KPIRPE-_-Item&RIID=55839993375&GID=&mid=EMT-_-10376092-_-ShipConfirmation-_-Item&rfe=5c1436b92ed1b86042d1e060fc838d5e17c65a0a08f2003302c9ae0f1967d5e1&gcrfe=5c1436b92ed1b86042d1e060fc838d5e17c65a0a08f2003302c9ae0f1967d5e1
  2. I'll likely do Titegroup or some viht powder next. Just trying to dial this in with CFE. This threat can serve as a reference for those who were frustrated like me trying to figure this out.
  3. Hey all, I am currently running a RRA 9mm Bolt in my rifle and, since owning the thing, the pin on the bolt that retains the weight keeps backing out. I pretty much have to check it between stages to make sure that it doesn't cause me trouble. What can i do about this? I've already tried replacing the pin but that hasn't helped. A new bolt? A pin that i haven't seen before? I'm all ears. Thank you.
  4. I updated my OP but i have some data from the range today: 9mm Mixed range brass CCI SPP Berry's 124gr plated rn 4.5gr CFE Pistol 1.110" 6 shot average - 1134 1.130" 6 shot average - 1112 1.150" 6 shot average - - 1121 100% reliability in 250 rounds fired. Short and snappy recoil with very minimal dot movement. I swapped out my 308 carbine spring for a 308 rifle spring and i feel that it helped a bit. The dot pretty much vibrated and returned to the original POI. I was pretty consistently hitting .15 splits and keeping all shots in the A-zone at 10 yards. I know i could probably bump my powder back and get a little smoother recoil but i like being over 1100 fps. I'm loading for an outlaw match where shots can range from 3 feet to 250 yards. As a side note; i fired some rounds from a friend to get the difference. He loads a 147gr plated bullet under a mild load of Viht. Chrono-ed at around 900 and felt very smooth. The dot movement was much slower... not sure what i prefer yet. I think i'm set with 4.5gr CFE at 1.130"
  5. new powder is certainly an option for the future. Today I’m trying to use CFE since I already have 8#
  6. What is the velocity of that load? As I stated in my OP, my 5.1gr load chronoed at 1236. It would make sense that 4.5 would be around 1100 which is more than acceptable (136 pf).
  7. Hey all, What's your preferred load using CFE Pistol powder when loading for a 16" 9mm PCC? Goal: reliably load that cycles in my gun and produces low felt recoil and dot bounce. In addition, must reliably hit 20" plates at 200 yards. In my gun, 5.5gr seated at 1.160" produced 1236 fps (10 shot average). This data is from 2017, and if i remember correctly, it was a bit snappy. I believe that my target velocity is around 1100 FPS with 100% reliability (of course). I've loaded up 3 batches that i'm going to test on Wednesday. Whats your hypothesis on muzzle velocity and generally feel of these loads? 8. Would have been nice to know before I bought the ETS. I didn't buy the ETS for cost savings, although cheaper. I bought it because it's clear (i.e. I can see the BBs in the mag) and because MBX has officially recommended them. So far, it hasn't disappointed in the spring tension or bullet presentation/angle department. I've heard it both ways, with most saying that, when kept clean, ETS mags work fine. If this one shits the bed i'll get a glock brand mag host for my MBX extension. I do have a glock brand mag for use with a Taylor Freelance extension. It doesn't feed and the body is now sitting in my garbage. 2 other glock brand mags DO work though. I guess you never can say something ALWAYS works or is always BETTER.
  9. I just received an ETS 31rd 9mm mag and installed my MBX mega extension on it. The bottom outside lip of the mag required some filing in order to fit the retaining pin. It's all together now and the feeding feels exceptionally smooth with excellent spring tension when fully loaded. I have no doubts that this will run.
  10. From what i'm gathering, the ETS mags need to be kept clean to run, but they do in fact run when they're clean. Since this is going on a big stick (57 rounder) for USPSA, I don't expect this one to ever hit the dirt. I'll know to make sure it's clean tho… which MBX makes easy with their removeable floor plate.
  11. MBX Claims that their mega extension will work with ETS and factory glock magazines but I've heard reports at the range of guys having issues with ETS magazines. Who here runs the MBS mega extensions with ETS magazines? Any issues or gtg? Thanks
  12. I've got a 9mm Alpha Wolff on order. No clue when it will show up but I plan to post a full review of it when I get a chance to run it. There's not much online about this rifle but it looks to be sweet.
  13. I don't believe the seating die or crimping die matters much; I just use Dillon. I highly recommend the Lyman carbide sizing die. Many guys out there buy expensive U dies or use a push through die to fix 'glocked' brass, adding another process/increasing time. I've had good luck with the Lyman and only about 1% of my ammo fails the plunk test.
  14. I have 2 rifles with the SSA-E, 2 with the High Speed National Match - Match trigger. Can't beat Geisselle. Whatever trigger you choose, read up on the benefits of full power hammer springs. I've seen light strikes with several of the other brands you've mentioned... and the decreased lock time is a good thing as well.
  15. Wallyworld cheapies for most stuff, Winchester AA Super Sport Sporting Clays for the rest (1300 fps 1 1/8oz 7.5 shot)
