Looks for Target

Looks for Target (4/11)

  1. I had a 24" bull barrel shortened to 22", threaded, and fluted by a local rifle builder for a reasonable fee. Took nearly a pound out of it, but could've gone way more aggressive with the fluting. Did it more for looks than anything. It went on a precision gas gun that weighs 14lbs, so I wasn't really trying to save weight.
  2. Just remove the follower, push out the pin holding the tab in, remove said tab and spring, then reassemble your magazine.
  3. Hiperfire would be a great choice. I have multiple older models of their triggers and they're all great. Running a 24 3gun in my 223 rifle and an Eclipse in my PCC. My older PCC is running a Rise RA-140 that I picked up off a prize table and it's been working great as well.
  4. I mostly shoot 3gun and outlaw PCC style matches, but occasionally do USPSA as well. I run a 25yd zero and have found that it's a great all-around zero distance for me. I ran 3MOA Razors last year in top and 45. This year I'm using a Vortex UH-1 as my primary optic and a 6MOA Viper offset.
  5. It would be allowed if you got the NFA version with a stock and SBR'd it, but they are a pistol brace and specifically not allowed.
  6. As others have said, the Vortex Razor 1-6 is awesome and exceptionally bright. I don't think I've ever had to turn mine past 7 or 8 on the brightest day.
  7. My first two seasons I was running a Vortex Razor 3moa on top and a Venom 3moa 45 offset. I'm building a new PCC for next season and I'm testing out a new setup on my old PCC in the meantime. Running the Vortex UH-1 as the primary and a 6moa Viper on the 45. I like the speed of the circle dot setup on the UH-1, but it still has a 1moa center dot for precision. I mostly shoot 2x4 in 3 gun, so I regularly shoot a lot longer shots than in USPSA and the finer dot is helpful for that.
  8. I'd probably get a hold of Mike & Lan at Dissident Arms.
  9. The new Vortex Micro 3x magnifier & mount is reversible for left or right. https://vortexoptics.com/vortex-micro-3x-magnifier.html
  10. I have a Aero M5E1 lower/upper combo that I built with their 15" handguard and a Faxon 16" lightweight profile .308 barrel. With a Magpul PRS stock and Vortex Diamondback Tactical 4-16 scope, it's over 12lbs. Kinda hard to make a large frame rifle too light, but if you have the M5E1 like I do, it's definitely going to be heavier than most.
  11. I've still never shot a match that required buckshot. I've only been to one where it was optional on 10 targets, but didn't make sense for most stage plans and only a few people tried it. My Stoeger M3K runs Remington managed-recoil 8 pellet 00 with no issues, but I've only used those on coyotes. I haven't even tested buckshot in my open gun.
  12. You'll be fine switching to that handguard. The upper receiver is mil spec and the FM handguard comes with it's own barrel nut.
  13. My shady motel in Versailles wasn't too bad this year, but staying at the range would be nice and definitely more fun.
