Finally read the FAQs

Finally read the FAQs (3/11)

  1. The Nightforce 1-8x NX8 looks like an awesome scope and light for a 1-8x at under 18oz. But is it 2.5x more $$, for some people that's no problem but I have a hard time justifying that much on a scope. I like the idea of the 1-10x for my 224 Valkyrie so I can take it up to 1,000-1,300 yards at the long distance range. A 3-18x would probably be better for long distance accuracy but to just hit some steel plates the the 1-10x is more versatile. GSRC has been talking about a 1-10x with a BDC reticle for years but I don't know if that is really happening.
  2. I just saw that Atibal is taking preorders and shipping in January. Hopefully someone gets one to review and compares it to some popular scopes
  3. The site says it has ED glass but who really knows what that means. I'm sure there several types and quality levels of HD and ED glass. Until someone can compare it side by side...
  4. Atibal's collection just got even better. They have a new FFP 1-10x30 scope with ED glass and MIL reticle. Only two other competitors; March and IOR Valdada...this is only $800. ATIBAL X
  5. I have a Taccom ULW buffer and spring and also experience failure to lock back on the last round. I will try with a buffer with some weight to see if that helps. I've tried adjusting the gas block forever with no luck.
  6. For what its worth, the Stoeger website shows the M3K comes with three chokes; Extended C, IC, and M. The new M3K Freedom Series has a Wrench, Extended C, Extended IM, and Extended IC. You can follow the link https://www.stoegerindustries.com/m3k-3-gun-shotgun I'm assuming the extended versions are needed because of the 10 round mag tube. Does the M3K come with a choke wrench? It is not in the description but the FS has one listed.
  7. Another contender that is 6.8oz with NiB coating and on sale for $99. I received mine and quality looks great. https://www.righttobear.com/RTB-Complete-Lightweight-Bolt-Carrier-Group-Blac-p/sbn16-lw.htm
  8. While a 1-8x might not be needed if all the targets are 400 yards or less then I think a 1-8x with FFP makes more sense. You don't have to be dialed in at 8x to hit a target, you can dial to 4x or 6x and keep the FOV open to acquire targets a little quicker. If you run into a match that has some long range shots you have 8x power to assist. A lot of 1-6x are lighter, but the most popular 1-6x is as heavy as all the 1-8x out there, I'm talking about the Razor. I know the Burris SFP is daylight bright but not sure on the FFP. However, having said all that I like the Burris SFP reticle better. I wish they made the FFP with a BDC out to 800-900 yards instead of 600 yards. Even though the longest range near me is 500 yards I'd like to have something just in case I ever needed it or traveled to a range for some long distance shooting.
  9. I know it doesn't have a big name behind it but quality on mine is great. It is the Right To Bear BCG wiht Nitride finish. Two great things about this; first is it only weighs .8 oz, second is is only costs $60! It's on sale for 50% off and in stock... https://www.righttobear.com/RTB-AR15-Lightweight-Carrier-Black-Nitride-carr-p/sbn16-lw-co.htm
  10. I know the Aero Precision VG6 doesn't reduce recoil like some of the beast muzzle breaks but I find it to be a great compromise. IMO, one of the best for its size.
  11. Yes, that is a nice scope. It's reticle is basically a better version of the JM-1 on the Vortex. It's also daylight bright and good FOV.
  12. I just picked up the older model with the CMR2 reticle and an Aero mount on ebay at an amazing price. Haven't had the chance to use it yet but I have read the green dot is not as bright as the fire dot. The CMR2 reticle is also daylight visible but not daylight bright.
  13. I don't think the L7 doesn't have a BDC reticle. I just got a VX6 with CMR2 reticle and Aero mount for $640 on eBay so that was hard to pas up. I like the weight, only con is brightness. The C-more is my favorite reticle and daylight bright, from what I understand, just a bit heavier. However most people are content with Vortex so most aren't worried about weight.
  14. Just bringing this back to see if anyone has used the pitbull 2. With the reticle in a traditional SFP scope everything between 1x and 6x is useless so I like the idea of being able to quickly change to 6x in less than a 1/4 turn. In addition FOV is HUGE, makes the Kahles and Swarovski FOV look like a pin hole. The original pitbull 1/4x had a BDC reticle that looks nice but I don't see as an available option for the pitbull 2.
