Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I'm sorry to steer your thread off direction, to most it doesn't matter where the brass lands, just that it exits the chamber reliably. Mine dribbles out 1 to 3 o'clock, never an issue. If I was chasing ejection direction, i would buy a new sear cage and tinker the ejector 'arm' , or maybe even the hook on the extractor needs some experimentation.
  2. You can start here, if you haven't seen this yet. Trial and error, because what may work for my shooting grip, magic unicorn load, and shooting purpose may not work for you YMMV I like 8 lb recoil for 147 N320 load, and I use federal primers exclusively gets a 10 # hammer with EGW sear and hammer, full fluff and buff
  3. Dont be stingy with your N320, it just seems to be the sweet spot on the powder chart for RMR and Zero 147s. 3.4 to 3.5 gr is the perfect load for these projectiles, soft and flat. My buddy calls the mild report with these loads 'unicorn farts' in my Tanfos. Pixi dust that N320 is
  4. Send barrel to have it reamed Gauge your ammunition Spring for loads being used Spring for primers being used .... Its like syncing the Webers on an old European sports car, a PITA but the outcome is worth it
  5. Favorite load for a reamed Stock 2 is 147 hp Zero or 147 RMR full metal FP on 3.3~3.4 N320 at 1.170 with Federal or Win primers on a 550 Dillon . Reasonably accurate , super soft , sweet shooting loading . Sprung with an 8 lb recoil spring , may be a little lazy for some .
  6. Hate to say it but I Think this is the one you need , at almost three times the price . Luigi must make them out of 'unobtainium' , never seen them in stock . I was in your shoes when USPS lost my barrel in transit to Patriot Defense for a barrel ream . Luckily , it turned up a couple weeks later . http://eaacorp.com/gun_accessories/index.php/parts/tanfoglio/witness/barrels/4-3-4-limited-barrel-9mm-102395.html
  7. Its not too hard to do , take your time and remove small amounts of sear and safety material at a time reassemble and testing after each adjustment . You will need a couple of fine gunsmithing stones and I also made a small ' jig ' for hammer to sear engagement adjustments using a set of machinist blocks
  8. Yes , I installed these in a Stock 2 with a Henning flat trigger set up . These are not drop in parts and MUST be fit . Its not terribly hard to do with the fitting instructions from Kneeling Atlas . I shoot precision long range and national level 22 BR rifle with Bix and Andy triggers and always yearned for a really nice target pistol trigger ( not in a revolver ) . With this set up and typical polish / spring upgrades / lightest Henning return spring I could get it down to a pound , zero creep , and a silly short reset . Was just a little to sketchy , so I upped the engagement and and now run slightly heavier springs I don't shoot in any ' alphabet ' sanctioned pistol matches , and use this Stock 2 for local pin matches and target work with this set up .
  9. Maybe this new development has to do with IFG swoozing in on EAA's best imported product ... ? Either way good news
  10. Look closely at the parts bags for the Hunter , and there should be a fiber optic front sight included .
  11. And I will add another wrinkle that there is another ' tweener ' frame . It has a rounded trigger guard , and came on the original Stock 1 with a conefit bull upper like Stock 2 . Differences are shorter dust cover , roll pin hammer pivot instead of pin and pin-pin , slightly less aggressive backstrap / frontstrap checkering ( but far more than base-model frame ) . Size wise frame is slightly larger than base frame , and slightly smaller than competition frame , and it came in hard chrome .
  12. Contact Denverdave on the forum here , he has a LNIB S2 in 9 that he is currently has on the block . I waited a few months for mine to come into inventory . I think Tanfo only sends guns over the ocean once or twice a year .
  13. I have a supper short chambered S2 . Thing is an amazing shooter , my best , not just me but everyone who has shoot it has been amazed how it hammers with 147 Zero and N320 . A friend drug me to a pin shoot , where we had to run the ranges specified frangible ammunition . Of course the S2 choked like a fat old food critic at a Waffle House . Thinking I want to send it down to Texas and have it reamed a bit , but worry about making an exceptional shooter into an average shooter . Anyone regret having their barrel throated ? Sorry if I come across as a pansy , but coming from bench rest / PLR background if you have that rare once in a while hammer , Ya don't fool with it
  14. One more anecdotal prop for the 941 classed Tanfoglio Last night a buddy drug me to a local pin match . Brought the SA Stock 2 , and knowing how finicky it can be with ammunition before I jumped out of the car I threw in the clapper Baby Eagle in the bag . Sure as shit , first round first bracket two shots and full on locked up third round . Seems as the range mandated frangibles wouldn't chamber in the S2 ( imagine that ) . Grabbed the rattle trap and wound up running the IMI /Tanfo bastard child to a solid third place outing . I'll say it again , fine shooting and pointing pistols . And guess I should get around to sending that S2 barrel to PD for a little throat work ...
  15. Thank You ! This time , saved to the hard drive AND printed and filed . Damn that Photobucket may they die a slow painful syphilis death
