I had the exact same issue. Swapped my mag catch, problem solved.

This exact load was ran in my P16-40 with great success. Montana Gold 180 Tmj.

I built a x39 pistol upper once, my first ever build. Was nothing but problems until the gopro revealed the bolt was short stroking due to a restricted gas port in the barrel. Opened her up about .020", adjustable gas block later and ran like a top. I suggest buying a complete upper.

Bolt gun, single loading. If it were an AR, I wouldn't expect the same accuracy.

Of about a dozen groups, I was able to get 2 five-shot groups to 1/2 moa @ 100 yds. That was using Hornady factory 147 ELDM of the same lot number. Gonna whip up some 140 ELDM and try again. ES and SD were 55 and 18, respectively over 10 shots. 2573 avg at 66F out of the 24" bbl.

Figured I'd give it a chance before slapping a prefit in it's place. My other Savages weren't noticeable to the naked eye, not like this.

Um, I've never seen this before. 60 rds down the pipe, 147 ELDM. Never seen marks like this. Rifle won't group for shit, nowhere close to out of the box savage accuracy I'm used to. Whatcha think?

I like where your intentions are at. Unfortunately, unless you already have a good amount of experience fitting parts, you will likely not save any money over a full custom. There will be parts you mess up and have to buy thrice (read safety), the headache that comes along with things not going as planned, in addition to learning things the hard way. This is assuming you haven't done this before. If you have, well, this probably wouldn't be a thread at all. The real question is: For X amount of money, do you want a full custom build from a reputable smith, or would you prefer the experience that comes along with building your own, without as high a regard for quality in the finished product. Same price either way. One option offers holding someone else accountable if things aren't up to snuff, which isn't likely to begin with. The other option quite possibly ends up a $4k pile of paper weights in the shape of pistol parts.

Easy solution. The ONLY time that pistol is not LOCKED in the holster is during make ready, and the draw. You wont be moving during either of these instances, and the pistol should be locked in at all other times.

168/175gr Federal gold medal match will do the magic. I'd be surprised if twist were any less than 1:10. Once you start reloading, the 175 Sierra TMK + Varget/4064 will be your go to load, and I'm not rich either. Can't help you with info on the rifle, never heard of it. Break in: lots of voodoo. The science (from what I understand) is to get a good, consistent copper base layer in the tooling marks and imperfections in the barrel. Therefore, most recommend (with the caveat that there really isnt any one perfect method) a good cleaning prior to use, then running a patch after EACH shot for the first 5-10 firings, then every other shot from 11-20, every third shot from 21-30...So on and so forth. Others will chime in and say they've got a .2 moa barrel without nary a cleaning... Both are correct Depends on how methodical you want to be, I guess.

Another vote for a used kitchen oven. 220-230F for 30-60 min and you are done. Primer in, out, doesn't matter.
