Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I just watched a video that Shay Akai did on this topic exactly. The points he made, confirmed my understanding of the concepts. Comp/muzzle break= for counteracting recoil (an extremely efficient comp would prevent the slide from even unlocking) Holes= for counteracting muzzle flip. This comes at the expense of gas to work the comp, so typically harsher feel in the hand. Barrel length plays a factor in this due to the length of the lever acting. Taking it to the extreme would actually push the muzzle down when you fire a shot.
  2. I shoot the 115 from ORM out of a Trubor. 173pf at pretty much every major this season.
  3. Agreed. I switched to a steel grip and it has been great. The grip is consistent no matter the level of sweat or humidity. About a week of dryfire had my hands used to the extra texture.
  4. They are way less sharp. They don't actually feel grippy at all. I only put my hands on them, I did not fire a shot.
  5. *stirring pot* Bending down with a pistol in the holster usually does NOT point the gun anywhere other than down where it was while standing. Maybe a LITTLE further away from the owner, but not significantly. Going prone, not so much.
  6. Agreed all around. Thats just what he said. To me. At Nationals.
  7. Agreed, but he wasn't going to DQ anyone for sweeping their feet if it was flagged.
  8. Don't think it is a rule, just what Troy told me when I asked about sweeping feet.
  9. https://uspsa.org/document_library/rules/2017/PCCAddendum_rev452017.pdf "PCC must be carried reasonably vertical, muzzle up or muzzle down."
  10. Put my hands on two of them at A3. Very nice. Pretty grippy, and was told, by the shooter who's guns they were, used to use aggressive micro pockets and is switching to these exclusively.
  11. How many rounds on the current recoil spring?
  12. I agree with Cha-Lee. Doesn't seem worth it. One malf with that mag would also turn me off to the idea. That at being said, I heard the Pres say that he had a couple that would hold 22. Old STI tubes (not the new old), but didn't ask the guts. He said those tubes were notorious for not dropping free. Which also sounds like a bad idea.
  13. Why is the basketball hoop 10 feet? Pretty sure the 23' is a random number that sounded reasonable. I'm sure there is absolutely zero science involved in making the decision.
  14. Bingo! Kind of like asking why you have to bounce the basketball when you move, and once you stop, you can't start again. All rules for games are random, but the rules are what make the game the game.
  15. This classifier was one that has some discrepancy between the classifier calculators. 10.1523 shows 76.70 on classifiercalc.com I shot it somewhere north of 13.5 in open. I thought it was good enough for 100%. Wrong, it was 85. I think there is another thread discussing this in this part of the forum.
