Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I have loaded about 1,000 of these. Just bought 5,000 more. For reference I have loaded them for 4 different Sig 320 pistols (2 X5s, a compact and a full size). All 4 of these barrels would take this bullet at 1.150. For comparison, I had to go down to approx. 1.125 for the Acme 124 RN to pass in these barrels. I worked up to 3.5 of Prima V. I had some of the better groups with this bullet compared to others (average group size was about 2 1/2 -3 1/2 inches at 20 yards with those 4 guns, if I remember without looking it up). My go to load currently is 125/125 TC BBI with 3.9 of Prima V at 1.135. Obviously, YMMV...
  2. Bowenbuilt, If you have tried Prima SV, I would love to hear of your experience with that powder. I am especially interested in how it behaves compared to E3 in 9mm shooting 124-135gr coated pills at minor PF.
  3. I would be very interested to hear about your experience with SV in 9mm. I have loaded several thousand rounds of 124-135 coated with the older formula of Prima V and loved it. With the formula change, I am looking for a new go-to powder. I am especially interested to hear from folks who have experience with both Prima SV and Alliant E3 as to direct comparisons of those two powders. I am extremely OCD with regard to my loading/ load development / chronoing, but I love to hear about others' experiences. I will probably use Sport Pistol for the time being, however, I have been wanting to experiment with SV and E3.
  4. If you have experience with it, how does the SNS 125 Conical compare to the BBI?
  5. Sarge, Do you know what the BBI coupon code is for the 5%? All that I found was the September code.
  6. I just logged on to post an almost identical question. I am intending to try Prima SV and e3 for the first time for 9 minor. I have found a lot of information on this site for e3 but would like some suggestions regarding start and max charges for SV ladder testing (.1 gr increments). I will be testing Acme 124 and 135s with CCI and S&B primers. Gun is a recently acquired 320 X5. I want to find a 130ish pf load with acceptable accuracy for USPSA Production. I too will most likely load for 40 Major in the future and would appreciate start/max recommendations for SV with coated pills. Also, how is SV in regards to spiking, temp. sensitivity, etc?
