Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. The barrel may be to "hard fit " and pounding the slide stop while going into battery. Should be able to ink the lower lugs and hand cycle with no recoil parts. It should go into battery pretty smooth or without having to tap on the back of the slide to hard. Disassemble and check ink. Should have solid contact at 12:30 to 1ish. If it's close you can hand lap with some 600 to seat it all in. Then you can fit a link properly. Now if he is riding the link you can check by pressing straight down on the chamber in battery. If it moves it's riding the link.
  2. This is always good practice to bevel and polish the underside of the center leaf to prevent binding. I also polish the top and front of the disco. I would also check for heavy burs in the disco hole of the frame. Most of the time they are present and are also awkward to get to.
  3. I have a few 80 guns and 3.5 is not a problem. One thing i do is clip a coil of the plunger tube spring. It's still safe but takes a little out of the equation. Google brownells 2.5lb trigger pull. There's a lot of good information there on tuning the sear spring after properly prepping all of your parts. It's achievable. Don't pull your parts.
  4. I should of replied with quote so it notified you. I know what it's like to be crunk time with a bug in a weapon.
  5. The slide stop lobe has generally a minimum length of .195 to a max of .205. It's measured from the inside of the stop arm to outside of the lobe. Now depending on the shape of the lobe it can be as long as .206 with no issues. There are a couple things you should check. One is the distance between the bottom of the slide and top of slide stop. Should be at least. 015. Any closer and it's prone to slide lock from recoil or a bump from a round. You also want to make sure the plunger is free and not dragging in the plunger tube. Now if that's all good you should strip the slide off and take an empty mag and insert it. Take a mental note of how it engages the follower. If there is plenty of meat on it take a round and put it in the mag. Slide it in a few times to make sure it clears. When i fit them i take am additional step and purposely push the round .010 forward in the mag and relieve till it passes. That will help if your getting movement from inertia. Lastly strips your mags down and clean them. They always seam to attract oil. You want them dry and free of oil. Good luck. Sometimes they can be a little frustrating.
