  1. Was the install straight forward, or does it require some gunsmithing/fitting/etc.?
  2. UPDATE I received my slide back from Primary Machine and couldn't be happier. Excellent work and didn't refinish the slide.

  5. They told me refinishing was not needed because it's stainless steel.
  6. For SRO machining, I'm considering Primary Machine or Vulcan Machine werks. Has anyone used either?
  7. I searched but don't see instructions on swapping the mag release from left to right (not in the manual, either.) Has anyone does this, yet? Is it as simple as unscrew, switch sides, screw back in?
  8. Thanks! Looks like they're sold out of the TSO magwell. They said they'd be back in a few weeks.
  9. Another new-to-the-platform question. I want to put Lok palm swell brass grips and magwell for a Shadow 2 on my DWX. What screws is everyone using to do this? My understanding is the threading of the torx screws included won't work with the DWX and 1911 screws are the wrong shape.
  10. I'm new to CZ's, so be patient, please. I just picked up a DWX at MSRP off of gunbroker and am ordering parts to be here when it arrives; I intend to send it out to Vulcan to have it cut for an SRO (already in hand.) My question concerns magazines; it only comes with two and I'd like to have at least 5. I've ordered five Henning +5 bases/springs/followers, but am confused over which mags to order from CZ. I know it takes "P10" magazines, but am seeing a few different P10 mags. Am I specifically looking for 19 round "P10F" mags to get those identical to what I will receive with the gun?
  11. I received it, installed it, and it looks terrible. I'm taking if off and continuing on my path of finding a gunsmith willing to do it or get a new gun (If I can find a DWX in stock, that's what I'll go with.)
  12. UPDATE. After a lot of rejections, one gunsmith explained why no one wants to work on an Infinity: it's the replaceable breechface. It makes cutting the slide for an optic very complicated and easy to screw up. As a result, no one wants to touch it (after looking at it, I understand why.) Instead, I've ordered a rear sight replacement plate for an SRO. It's not quite as low as a direct cut, but it's close, it's a cheap part ($55), and I can install myself. It's a little ghetto but I'll shoot this for a season and if I like it, will just have a complete slide made; or maybe a new gun. Thanks for the input, everyone!
  13. Thanks for the suggestion. Do you have any direct experience? Their reviews seem to be very hit or miss.
  14. Never mind... apparently, they don't work on Infinity's.
  15. Thanks for the input. Have you ever heard of Vulcan Machine Works? That's who Hayes recommended.
  16. I have a 2009 SV Infinity I'd like cut for an SRO and refinished in DLC. Can anyone recommend a good gunsmith for this? I've reached out to Infinity (no response) and Hayes (declined the project.)
  17. Looks like it’s getting partially out, but not completely ejecting. Maybe an extra 1/10th or two would improve ejection?
  18. I usually shoot 180gr HP Montana Gold bullets and am coming to the end of my last thousand. As they are rare as hen’s teeth, I thought I’d try to find a suitable replacement. I picked up some 180 grain zeros, 180 grain blue bullets, and 180 grain Berry’s bullets. The length of each are very close, so I loaded them all the same: 4.8gr Clay’s, COL=1.19”, twenty rounds of each. All three had an FTE on the last round. I loaded some of my last Gold’s, no FTE. All passed a gauge and cycled fine, except the last casing. The Gold was fine. Any idea WTF is going on? They are shot through an SVI, BTW.
  19. I know this is an old post, but how did your build turn out? Is it reliable?
  20. WSF is a pretty slow-burning powder. I have some CFE I had initially tried that didn't work, but maybe I'll go back to it and dial some more.
  21. Thanks- I'll add more quarters and see what that does. I looked at the carrier and don't see any obvious wear, after a few thousand rounds. I agree is could be the rifle- it's a Gibbz Arms upper, lower, and bolt. I did pull apart a few rounds each of the two lots of Remington UMC: one lot worked great and the other lot had the typical "ka-chuck" feel. COL was ~the same, as was bullet weight, case length, and crimp. The big difference was the powder: the lot that worked had an average of 5.2gr of powder, while the lot that didn't work well had an average of 3.8gr of powder- the powder looked the same, but there's no easy way to verify.
