Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. IIFYM + ~1.5 gallons of water a day
  2. OP here, I wanted to follow up incase anyone was interested, or somebody finds this thread by googling. I decided to have my barrel throated/reamed by patriot defense and I am pleased with the results. I had received a 500 bullet certificate for the precision bullets so I felt that the expense of the service was justified. I have not noticed diminished accuracy or any other issues with my barrel. Ultimately I decided not to use precision bullets. Precision specially advises against titegroup usage and I have a surplus of titegroup. I opted for Acme 147's instead, despite them being slightly more expensive.
  3. I also experienced this problem twice [on one stage during a match] with my Mac-gar AFC mags with shock bottle base pads. I had to grab the slide and sling-shot it as the slide stop wouldn't budge. The stage was some kind of steel 3-gun stage repurposed for USPSA and my stage plans dictated I shoot the gun dry and then move. Otherwise I would have to go 1-for-1 on the center position.
  4. Where is the class? In Florida? I may be interested if it's not full...
  5. Enlightening Thank you for another in-depth explanation.
  6. I ultimately decided to send my barrel to patriot defense. The 500 precision bullets were from a certificate I was given, so I feel as though I am coming out ahead.
  7. The precision bullet length is .66. For those curious, I will attach a comparison of a bayou 147 fp to at the 147 precision bullet. I ordered 250 135gr cone shaped projectiles from Blue Bullets and 1k 115gr fmj from my friend(I'm not crazy about 115gr, but I'm getting them for $.043/per projectile). I will compare them to my 147gr loads once I dial in the 115 & 135 to ~130pf. Then I'll shoot them in a 4 stage Tuesday mini match at my club.
  8. Thanks everyone for your helpful responses everyone. IDescribe, I especially appreciate your detailed responses. I will post again tonight with the bullet's length and a proper follow up post.
  9. I received 500 of these(http://www.precisionbullets.com/store.html) in 147gr. I loaded some to 1.135-1.147, they passed my Lyman gauge but got stuck in the rifling of my barrel. I reduced the oal length to the point at which they would drop and spin in the barrel. This turned out to be around 1.08. I believe this is due to the profile of the bullet, specifically the width near the case mouth extending towards the nose. My bayou and xtreme bullets loads both work fine in this barrel. I'm very new to CZ so any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Shadow 2 Legal Date

That's good to hear. Hopefully the remaining batches will be delivered in the coming weeks.
  12. Volusia is about 2 hours south-east of me. Never been, as I'm not really willing to drive more than 40min for a club match. I typically shoot at ShootGTR's Tuesday night matches. Although I haven't shot in about 1.5 months.
  13. Where are you shooting at? Goodluck at your first USPSA match!
