  1. If the barrel is hardened or nitrided you will need a carbide reamer.
  2. Yeah I saw it and am patiently waiting. So how much longer do I have to be patient? I’ve got four ULWs that just became a lot less sexy after you posted photos of the new hotness. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I’m at 8.9gr HS-6 with a 115gr RMR JHP for 173pf for 9major. 10.5gr of any powder seems like a huge amount. What is your PF? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. OAL depends on your projectile. I have three different OALs depending upon if I run the Berry’s 100gr HBRN, RMR 100gr RN or Gunracer 100gr snubby RN. It also depends on your intended use. If you shoot Steel Challenge and don’t need to make power factor, 3.7gr of SP is soft and runs about 1020fps out of my Taccom ULW barrel. For fast cycling minor USPSA loads 5.0-5.2gr of SP works well at about 136 max PF. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. We shot this today. I blew it but the top shooter shot it 100% in 6.01. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I have three Taccom ULW barrels I use for competition and can’t say enough good things about them. I don’t see a need for anything else—at least not for USPSA and Steel Challenge. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Yes, any standard handguard will work. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I would love a 10. When are they coming out? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. ^This right here. I love the RMR 124 JHP for 9major and PCC. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. The two best PCC bolts on the market are JP and Taccom. Both of them have numerous competitors running tens of thousands of rounds through them and they just plain work. Everything else is a crapshoot. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I run VZ Operator II grips on most of my 1911s, but I also like the Recons quite a bit. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I can ream your barrel if interested. When done you can load out to 1.160+ depending on the projectile. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I would think everyone should be concerned with a trigger that breaks off, but if that doesn’t bother you then no worries. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Two of the three failures I watched in my buddy’s gun were catastrophic where the trigger bar broke off, effectively ending his stage. The third failure was from the trigger bar extension stripping and allowing the trigger foot to swing out laterally, extending outside the trigger guard. That is an automatic DQ in USPSA since the trigger is no longer covered by the guard. Those are not the kind of failures that you can limp through a stage with unless you can hide the third one from the RO when unloading and showing clear. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. The problem with that logic is it’s likely already cost you the match by the time you can switch to a backup gun. If I could find a reliable sub 2lb trigger with a shorter reset than my Hiperfire 24C I’d buy it, but the Calvin Elite isn’t it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. You are correct. All were broken in a PCC that ran previously perfect with a JP trigger. He put in the CE and loved it initially, then broken the first one in a match in 2017. My post about it is in this thread about halfway up. He has broken two more since then and finally gave up on the CE over reliability. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Different league as in not reliable? After three broken Calvin Elite triggers my buddy finally went to a Hiperfire 24C—well the new version of it anyway. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. 9mm tap. Remove all cutting threads except the one’s that grab the case, just to make sure you don’t accidentally scratch anything. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I think it’s ridiculously expensive for some angle iron with magnets attached. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Sorry, I meant 10. They 8’s are .45. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I absolutely LOVE the new 9mm 1911 8-round mags from Metalform! They have a coating that helps them drop free and they run great both my Colt 70 Series pistols. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I’ve been using Sport Pistol for about a year now and I love it. It’s exactly what everyone says about cleaner burning and it’s more accurate than Titegroup in my guns. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Yes, light loads are a competitive advantage for Steel Change and yes it’s common. It’s also not a good idea to mix up your ammo boxes and accidentally take your steel loads to a USPSA match since they won’t make power factor, they’ll cycle slower so double taps on paper are farther apart, and they won’t knock over any poppers. Ask me how I know... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Elftmann sent a new trigger to my buddy when he had the same problem but it didn’t fix it either. He sold it off and uses a Timney Calvin Elite now. Unfortunately that trigger has broken twice so I suggested he go with the Hiperfire 24c like I’ve been running without issue for two years. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
