Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Are there any websites that sell tecloaders for shotguns? On MidwayUSA they seem to be discontinued. I know Arredondo sells some aluminum ones but they're a little pricey, so I've been looking for the Armstec Tecloaders and I can't seem to find them anywhere. Thanks!
  2. I just purchased the 50th year anniversary Ruger 10/22 and took it out to the range the other day. I had nothing but problems with this gun. The rifle comes with with the 10 round magazine and the BX-25 magazine, both of which had issues. The first round would not feed on each magazine. It will not feed when there is only one round in the magazine. We used a variety of ammunition but the main one I use is CCI mini-mag. Looking at the brass, there appears to be a solid thick scratch running along side the brass and a gash in the bullet. When the failure to feed malfunction happens, I remove the magazine and the round then becomes chambered. This leads me to believe that it is the magazine, however, it is happening to both factory magazines. I have inspected for burrs and everything is really smooth. I have no clear idea what the issue is and it's quite disappointing due to the praise I hear for the 10/22s. If anybody can help me, I would love to get this gun running.
  3. I'm looking to buy a new bolt gun and I have been looking at the Remington 700 ADL. Unfortunately, I don't like that there isn't a detachable box magazine. Would I be able to purchase a Remington 700 BDL stock and move the Remington 700 ADL action onto it? Of course then I would purchase a box magazine. My purpose for this rifle is for target shooting as well as hunting.

    Sighting In

Well some targets are covered with no shoots other the head A zone and small differences in point of impact is something I'm concerned about.

    Sighting In

Unfortunately, I only have a 10 yard indoor range near me at the moment. There is a match that will require most shots to be at 15 yards. I didn't have any time to reload so I'll be using factory ammunition and I figure I'll sight in my glock 34 using this ammunition before the match. So I was wondering if I had sighted in for 15 yards, where will my bullets impact at 10 yards using 124 gr 1140 fps ammo? I'll try to compensate that amount when I sight in at the 10 yard range.
  6. I have been purchasing Dawson Precision grip tape for my competition Glock for a while now and I will continue to because the tape is aggressive and the right feel for my hands. However, ever since the first set that I purchased, I've had many issues with it staying on. I always clean and degrease before applying as well as blow drying the tape and grip. From what I've read this is supposed to better help the adhesive stick. This has not been the case for me. Within a couple dry fire sessions, the tape starts to shift and bunch up. I have read about adding IC 2000 adhesive, but I didn't think I'd have to add more adhesive for it to stay put. I would really like to resolve this issue because I really do enjoy the texture of the product.
  7. I recently purchased the Glockstore extended aluminum mag catch for my G34 in hopes that I won't have to break my grip to drop the magazine. I've tried the Vickers tactical but found that I would still have to break my grip to access it due to the size of my hands (although it was an improvement over factory). The glockstore mag catch did the job perfectly and I love it functionally. However, after half an hour of dry fire, a portion of my palm that would hit the mag catch was skinned and raw. Indexing properly and locking my wrist kept rubbing against this part of my palm. Any solutions? Light filing didn't do the trick so I was thinking something with cushion. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be able to form callouses in this spot if I keep peeling it raw. http://www.glockstore.com/extended-aluminum-mag-catch-for-glock Edit: Link
  8. I'm absolutely obsessed with flat triggers. I love the feel and the look. Is there anyone that offers a flat trigger for autoloader shotguns?
  9. I just picked up the Mossberg 930 today and I was wondering if I was missing anything on my list for open division. I didn't get the JM Pro Series so it's a little bare. Also, I'll be drawing a lot from what Jerry has on his. Anyway, here's the list. 1) Arrendondo shotgun mount 2) Need a suggestion on a micro red dot 3) Arrendondo speed loader assist 4) HIVIZ Recoil Pad (but I'm open to suggestions) 5) Speed loaders 6) Nordic extended charging handle (also open to suggestions) 7) Nordic mag tube extension Right now I have the 28" barrel that is ported. I know 28" is a little long but I can always swap out barrels. I'm not quite sure on which choke I want to use so give me a suggestion. Thanks!
  10. Thanks everyone for the tips! Safety, painter's tape, dry fire, and reading.
  11. Thanks! Since I'm new and don't have enough posts, the site won't let me post links. I'll keep those things in mind! However, the nearest club for me doesn't start their matches until the spring, so I figured I'd get a head start on some of the things I can do while the ranges are closed for the winter, e.g. dry firing, reload, draw. I would like critiques though, because in the end, it'll only help me.
  12. Hi all, I was wondering if you guys would be able to critique my draw and reload. I'll be competing in a gun competition (USPSA) for the first time this spring, and I'm gaining many tips just being on here. In the video, I'm aiming at a paper plate leaning against the wall (I taped one up once, but it stripped some paint off). When I pull the trigger, I always make sure I have a clear sight picture of the dot. I feel pretty comfortable about my dry fire practice and my accuracy on the range, but to me, my draw feels a little sluggish and my reloads aren't as smooth as other people make it seem. Any tips on my draw and reload would be great! Thanks! Sorry I'm new, so I can't do links, so just add this watch?v=xvmx4Xrnuro after the .com/ on youtube
  13. Thanks everyone, I realized that I needed to get a different guide rod.
  14. I recently purchased an uncaptured Wolff recoil spring. This is the first time I've gotten anything from Wolff. However, when I put the recoil spring in, it was bunching up kind of funny and it seemed like it was touching the barrel. I'm not exactly quite sure how to resolve this issue.
