Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. As a lefty, when I reload, I do the following: 1) insert the mag 2) rotate the gun just enough where I can grab the slide with my thumb and operate it, and my other fingers on my support hand are ready to go into the grip 3) release the slide by racking it with my thumb 4) establish the grip At a TDSA course in Tulsa the instructor, Marshall Luton, made a very good point to me. He said, "If us lefties start making changes to our gun to better suit us, what happens when we NEED a gun and the one we pick up is a right handed gun?" In other words, learn to use the majority functions of stock firearms.. It might save your life..
  2. This might be a stupid question, but with laws in California can people shoot Open or limited with standard magazines or do they have to limit them to 10 rounds?? Random thought of the day...

    Best choke

I was running light modified this past weekend with skeet and sporting clays, and had a great time with it.
  4. Man it looks like a good year... IDPA World Shoot (Tulsa, Ok) and hopefully my first USPSA limited Nationals in Georgia
  5. So, to be able to reload whenever you want, make sure your grip pushes up the slide stop at the right time, drop the mag, reload, and move on? It locked back, so therefore it was automatically a malfunction? Yea since we all have control over that... But if you can do that, you are probably a jedi ninja
  6. Let me guess, you do not even shoot IDPA and you probably do not shoot it because of the dumb fishing vest, the dumb rules, and etc. The same reasons I hear all the time from other semi-pros. This is why we get so argumentative when a rule comes in that changes the game even more. We know that it will make even more people not want to shoot IDPA. This rule actually made IDPA shooters not even want to shoot IDPA anymore... The number of competitors at nationals dropped drastically and the number of memberships sold slowed down as well. We took it to the board to get the rule book reviewed. With many votes from the IDPA members, the board reviewed the rule book and extracted the rule. So I guess you can say that we did change them with SOME MATURITY and NOW we will shut the hell up.
  7. I see both sides of it: 1. You know if you want to be competitive in SSP or ESP, you are going to want to shoot soft 9mm reloads or at least 9mm factory. You will have to make that .40 really soft to keep competitive. 2. If .40 major was allowed in CDP, both .40 and .45 guys would be equal in competition. It would even the spectrum out a little.
  8. You good stipple the grips and move into ESP Or.. You good slip on a textured grip or add skateboard tape, and stay in SSP.
  9. So happy that this rule is getting removed!!
  10. Yea I would call it a malfunction also! The gun showed you a sign for it to be empty and needing a reload, and that is exactly what you did! If the RO didn't call that it was probably because he was to busy looking at your feet, making sure you were not moving.
  11. Because it's Russia... They don't care about that!
  12. I was at the office today talking to some fellow gun nuts, that I work with, about my STI. One guy asked me if I have changed out the barrel, then I replied with "No, why would I?". He was astonished that I have not changed the barrel and says that he always changes out the barrel. So my question is why would you want to change out a match-grade barrel? What else would you get?
