Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Any chance you could post pics of the lightened bolt?
  2. fwiw.....check your barrels and make damn sure they're straight. I've seen three examples of this shotgun with warped barrels. Two were new on the shelf at Cabela's, the third was newly purchased and used on a high-volume dove hunt when the problem was discovered. Needless to say, it's my first (and hopefully last) experience with Brownings customer service. To say it sucks is putting it mildly.
  3. There's a wealth of great information and how-to's on the 3000 in this section but a significant amount of that info is buried in some long threads. It's important enough (at least to me:) that I'd like to start a thread that's a condensed version of specific upgrades, replacements parts, mods, and observations in this particular thread. If anyone has a link and/or brief explanation of an upgrade, upgrade part, after markets pat(s), or mod for this shotgun please post it in this thread. Benelli Extractor (drop-in replacement for the OEM Stoeger Extractor) http://www.brownells.com/shotgun-parts/receiver-action-parts/extractor-parts/extractors/extractor-prod6222.aspx Benelli Extractor Spring http://www.brownells.com/shotgun-parts/receiver-action-parts/extractor-parts/extractor-springs/extractor-spring-prod23642.aspx
  4. Oops....I think I ordered the wrong part. The extractor I received doesn't look like the one in my bolt. Is this the correct part? http://www.brownells.com/shotgun-parts/receiver-action-parts/extractor-parts/extractors/extractor-prod6222.aspx
  5. Great info, I'm ordering the parts today.
  6. I use grill paint on my barrel to prevent rust. It's a flat finish that's similar in appearance to a parkerized finish.
  7. Thanks fellas, I'll touch base with Jesse and get his $.02 on the matter. If he's already chased this dragon, he'll shorten my learning curve significantly.
  8. 3000's I've had with significantly more use.
  9. Shells look normal, regarding the extractor lug, I'm not seeing any difference between the lugs on the problem 3000 and another 3000 that doesn't exhibit the problem. The shotgun is less than two years old and has had less use than several
  10. I have a well used M3000 that has developed a problem extracting shells. After firing a round, the bolt moves rearward but the extractor lugs slip off the lip on the base of the shell leaving the spent shell case in the receiver. I've cleaned the shotgun, re-lubed, and tried different types and brands of shells (Rio Bluesteel 3" #2, Win SuperX 2 3/4 #8, etc). The problem occurs in 90 degree temps as well as sub freezing temps. Any suggestions or help resolving the problem would be greatly appreciated.
  11. I've called and left a vmail with MOA and have had zero success in determining the drill bit size to drill a hole to prep and tap the stock bolt release for an MOA Precision oversized bolt release. If anyone knows I'd appreciate the info.
  12. +1.... at $19.94 for a 4 box carton, it's not only good shells, but easy on the wallet. fwiw, I've been using a Stoeger M3000 on high volume dove hunts for the last 2 years. A guide in NW Mexico turned me on to the shotgun. I've got quite a few high end auto's and OU's and I can honestly say I prefer the accuracy, reliability, and lack of worry about beating up the shotgun. I've shot the hell out of it and it still looks pretty damn good.
