Finally read the FAQs

Finally read the FAQs (3/11)

  1. Try one of the laser training cartridges. The laser will *blip* where you "hit" which should be on target.
  2. Do you have a notched or round top hammer? I had issued with mine until I went to a round hammer. Since have moved to a RRA 2 stage trigger that it likes.
  3. Looks like a Gibbz (http://www.gibbzarms.com/g4-upper-receiver.html) but I don't have experience with either. Check here : http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=188010 and here : http://www.65grendel.com/forum/showthread.php?8520-Side-Charged-Upper-Guide-Many-great-options-to-choose!
  4. http://6mmar.com/Left_Hand.html This page has a few options. I'm curious if the receiver is stiff enough to allow a left side load, right side eject, left side charge handle though. Left side load would be nice for rounds too long for magazine feed.
  5. http://www.jprifles.com/1.2.1_PSC_11.php JP offers a side charge rifle in 6.5 Grendel and 22 LR
  6. I shot a 357 snub out of an ankle holster at a club match 25+ years ago.
  7. I miss my old 788. With the right loads, it would go sub MOA. I had free floated the barrel and glass bedded the action. It had an old 3x9 Leupold Gold ring on it. Good glass that matched the rifle's potential. I replaced the plastic butt plate with a thin rubber pad for comfort and to keep the butt from sliding on my shoulder. It was nothing to look at but shot very well. The biggest drawback was the trigger. It was smooth but heavy, like a chrome plated crowbar. Got short of funds and let it go.
  8. I use Mobil 1 5W-30 in my vehicles and buy it in the 5 qt jugs. After the jug is "empty", I turn it over and let it drain what is left into a catch cup. I always have plenty for the guns, for "free".
  9. Something like this maybe? http://milspecmonkey.com/index.php/weapons-page/stocks/132-tactical-duostock
  10. Iain Macpherson is my alter ego in the Society for Creative Anachronism. Needed an email address 20+ years ago and had to drop an A and the O to fit their parameters. Have been using it ever since. iainmcphersn
  11. If you go back and re-read my post, you will realize I was referring to the bullet feeder, and only the bullet feeder. To be more specific, to change calibers the bullet feeder must be removed and re installed. I stand by; "If you plan to load more than one caliber, on the same press, forgetaboutit." I'll go back and edit, to make it morer clearer Sorry, missed the specification on the bullet feeder.
  12. I had good results when I was loading 9mm and 40 S&W on mine. Just swap the turret and brass. I was lucky to use the same charge of the same powder for both calibers so I just moved the powder drop to the active turret. I have swapped shell plates, carriers, pretty much all the parts over the time I used my 1000 but don't recommend it. The reason the 9/40 swap worked was because they used the same shell plate and same primers. 9x23 or 357 SIG might work as well but if you need a different plate/primer feeder for the caliber change, it's cheap enough to buy another press.
