  1. A) Sorry they ruined it for some, but sure seems a lot of shooters like it. B)So the rule changes attracted new shooters… sounds good for the sport C) what’s wrong with wanting to have fun? If a shooter doesn’t want to learn to mag changes… I guess they are content placing lower in the ranking. That should make some happier that they will place higher. Same goes for stage planning … D) So it encouraged manufacturers create new products and sponsor the sport. That’s great for all shooters E) ooops… excuse me … division All in all … it’s perspective.
  2. So … they created a class … called CO. People liked it… they tweaked the rules… more people liked it… they tweaked it some more … even more people liked it. some of the people that were drawn to it and changed what they had been shooting to shoot it… where’s the problem? oh … wait … some people are mad that to many people liked it? I say they need to tweak the classes that people left… maybe some will come back
  3. Evolution is what keeps the world moving forward and variety is the spice of life… Tweaking the rules is evolution and adding spice. Please do not let this sport grow old, stale and die. Instead find ways to attract new shooters and ways to allow aging shooters to enjoy the short longer. We can always sit around and say remember back when…
  4. I truly think CO took off and developed into something away from the original idea. But what a great division! Why “Carry” Optics but allow heavy guns and 140 mags…. Nobody “Carries” a gun that heavy with 140 mags and this not IDPA. I think Production Optics with Production rules… there plenty of optic ready guns available. Ready for it… Modified Optics allowing heavy guns and 140 mags. I say keep the minor PF and yes allow SA guns (agreed no great advantage over other guns on the market)
  5. I have shot .355, .356,.357 &.358 coated in every weight from 124 to 147. Every CZ barrel that I have ever slugged comes in a little large .356-.3565 or so. I have excellent results with .357 bullets coated. I have throated all my barrels and load to 1.160 with excellent results. I run a 38 S&W (not 38 special) case expander die to not swag the bullet into the brass and deform it. Probably the most accurate loads I have ever had were .358 130gr FP over N320. Had to put a nice sized bell on the case to not shave the lead when loading fast on my 1050. With that said 135gr RN .357 @1.16 over N320 at 980-1000 fps works really well.
  6. So … does anyone like the idea of production and limited CO classes? That way Da/sa and strikers do not have to compete with the SAO guns. (Although many of the striker fired guns are truly SA gun just without a hammer) it not only gives the 2011 a place in CO, but other guns like CZ TS. Again I say take production add optic and then take limited add optic. This would also still allow for the open shooters to feel like they are something special. This would grow our sport.
  7. In my opinion… Production Optics and Limited Optics (minor) would be the right answer
  8. It’s my understanding that it’s not doing every bullet, but a consistent % of them. I would still say wrapped plate... which would be a consistent number as the plate goes around and around...
  9. When I was having high primer issues on my 1050... I found a warped shell plate was the reason. Replaced the plate and no more problems. Only thing worse that a reloaded that won’t run is a gun that won’t run!
  10. The majority of limited shooters can still shoot limited. CO is not for everyone, but if they wanted to change over... add a dot to the slide and less powder in their load and they are there. They already have the right mags, belts and holsters. Sir... if you feel like another class split with minor and major scoring is the way to go... you sir are entitled to your opinion and should cast your vote that way.
  11. Never said anything about saving anyone any money or making it easy for the majority of any class switching to it! Your post reminds me of something that would be on CNN... Gezzz!
  12. I’m all for changing up CO a little. Make it 2 Classes... Production Optics (what we have now) and Limited Optics ( minor only, 140mm mags, single action triggers and small magwells. Optic must be slide mounted and no comp. Besides that ... we have single action striker fired guns legally in CO now, just not single action hammer fired guns. Study on single action striker fired triggers and you will find a bunch of them have excellent triggers. Example - Glock is a double action striker and Canik is a single action striker. Do not underestimate some of the striker triggers. Once a trigger gets to a high level... how much of an advantage is just a little better anyways?
  13. My vote would be for two classes... Production Optics and Limited Optics It’s a shame my vote is worth as much as a spent primer...
  14. I must say... I am all for single action triggers being allowed in CO with no other rule changes needed or wanted... Maybe small mag wells, but that is all. If you shoot CO and you disagree, I would be interested in why? If you don’t shoot CO ... why do even care what rules that the division has? The evolution of classes and rules is what will keep this sport alive and growing. Don’t miss understand me... I agree that there can/could be to many classes at some point and you have to draw lines somewhere, but the class is continuing to grow and attracting shooters from 3G, IDPA and Tactical shooters to come play... would have to be good for the sport.
  15. I have both direct mount and the CZC plate system... the plate is the way to go
  16. Thanks for the sharing. I think I'll get my hands on a few guns with some of the different options and see which feels right. My CZs all came with the wider style safeties when I got them... as I refined my grip I started putting the flat smooth safeties on them to get a higher grip. As I learn to handle this gun... I guess it's possible that I might already have what I need. I don't ride my thumb on the safety like I used to. Hopefully a little time will tell me where I need/want to be. Thanks again for sharing...
  17. I'm new to the 2011 platform. I'm changing from CZ. With the CZ there are not as many options...
  18. I'm sure neither of us had an original thought ... but they say "great minds think alike". Often I wonder who "they" are...
  19. Surprised to see this thread... I had the same idea just a few weeks ago. I discussed it with a buddy and he thought was great idea also. Glock mags and grip angle could be a heck of a combination when combined with the 2011 platform. I know I would try one.
  20. Good information... thank y'all for that. Seems there are a lot (maybe too many) options. I was kinda hoping there was a general consensus that a particular one would be the one to get ...
  21. I am new to the 2011 platform and I am not sure which safety I should order. The gun came with only a single sided safety. I would like an ambi and one that is a little wider. Any and all suggestions/recommendations are greatly appreciated... Thank you
  22. That A01 looks very interesting... guess I have been out of it for to long. Has anyone put their hands on one? If so how's the grip compare to other CZs? Looks like there are a lot of new possibilities in the future.
  23. I had one of my Shadow slides cut for a DPP. I have shot it on the 75 Shadow lower as well as the SP01 lower... and again I seem to prefer the 75 Shadow lower due to the way the grip fits in my hand. It's not about how wide the grip is, but more the length front to rear. With all things considered I think I would like a down sized Shadow 2 (SP01 length and weight) or maybe a SP01 with a Shadow 2 grip... bull barrel of course. I can not help but wonder what the CZ Mad Scientist will bring out next... probably right after I buy a new gun.
  24. Like the topic asks... Which is your favorite CZ and why? I have kind of gone in a circle... My first CZ was a 75 Shadow SA. Next came a LSP... then SP01 Shadow... followed by Shadow 2... and now I am back to liking my 75 Shadow (DA now). And a PO7 for carry... What I found ... 75 Shadow SA - wanted a DA for Production LSP - I found It top heavy SP01 Shadow Custom - small grip Shadow 2 - never shot it that much, loved the grip but gun felt heavy Thinking of getting another CZ ... just undecided on which... Maybe a Bull Shadow or Accu Light... Help?
