Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Do stainless steel guns need a different kind of lubrication? If yes, what kind of lubrication do they need? Thanks.
  2. Forgive the ignorance as I am still new with guns. Anyway, what are the differences between gun oil and grease? What are their different purposes? In what gun parts should be gun oil applied to and and also in what gun parts should be gun grease applied to? Thanks in advance.
  3. I am debating on whether to get Froglube or Weapon Shield as a CLP for my 1911 pistols. Anyway, for those of you out there who have tried both Froglube and Weapon Shield, how do they compare to each other when it comes to lubrication and fighting off corrosion? Which CLP did you like better? Thanks in advance.
  4. Forgive the ignorance as I am still new with 1911 pistols. Anyway, what let's say if after so many thousands of rounds, the slide to frame fit of your 1911 pistol become loose, is there a way to have them tight again? If yes, what procedures are done? Also, assuming that the slide and frame of your 1911 are tight again, how long or how many rounds shall it take for them to become loose again? Thanks in advance.
  5. Forgive the ignorance but what is galling? You see, I the finish of one of my 1911 pistols is stainless and someone told me the one of the problems of stainless guns is galling. He also said that stainless steel requires a different kind of lubrication and gun oil grease. Are these all true? If yes, what kinds of lubrication, gun oil and grease should I get? Thanks in advance.
  6. In the 1911 single stack platform, how would SVI, Wilson/ Combat, Les Baer and Night Hawk compare to each other? Thanks in advance.
  7. Brought my gun to the gunsmith. According to him, what caused the slide lock was that the ejector moved slightly up to bind with the breech face. He fixed it right away and now my gun is running smoothly. Thanks for all your replies.
  8. By the way, what is slide binding? Also, how is this fixed? Thanks.
  9. I don't quite understand this part? My bad. I meant, push the slide forward. Sorry for the typo error.
  10. Yes, I've tried every magazines and it's still the issue.
  11. Even with no magazine and the gun is in slide lock, I still have to push the slide forward for it to go back to battery.
  12. Was shooting my 1911 45 ACP pistol this afternoon. Was shooting flawlessly the first 80 rounds. Then, all of a sudden, the slide locks up( Remains Open)and the next round in the magazine doesn't feed. I can't seem to press the slide stop to make the slide close and go back to battery. I have to push the slide forward for it to close and go back to battery and chamber the next round from the magazine. Even on an empty magazine, it is still the same. I have to push the slide forward for it to close and go back to battery. Would anyone out here know what may be causing this problem and what is the fix for it? Thanks in advance.
  13. If I may ask, what is the difference between shooting a 45 ACP and 40 SW handgun, especially when it comes to recoil? Which among the 2 calibers is easier to control or manage? Thanks a lot in advance.
  14. If I may ask, for those of you out there, who have had any experiences with Tungsten Guide rods, what is your take on them? Are they any good? What benefits or advantages do Tungsten Guide rods give? Also, what are their drawbacks? Thanks in advance.
