Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Here's the reason for my Accupoint vote. Variable power and a brightly lit reticle. What's not to like.
  2. Fluting looks cool, Gov't is lighter.
  3. These were fired at 300 yards thru a Bushy 1x9 Chromed Gov't profile. The load is nothing special, Win 55 PSP over AA2200 in LC unsorted/unprepped brass. I have no problem with chromed mil spec barrels for 3 gun. In fact, I prefer them.
  4. I'm looking forward to these. Always enjoyed shooting at Heritage and after a long break would like to get back to a little 3 gun for the fun of it.
  5. It's fallen from favor, but I like the standard Aimpoint QRP "Railgrabber". The ARMS 22M68 is awesome too. You didn't mention your reciever brand, but the QRP will work even if the rail width is out of spec.
  6. The Thermold 30's work very well in the Mini 14. Thet rub the bolt (like the Ar Thermolds do) when new but are perfect after break in. Thet are tough to find these days. Look for the small hole in the top front of the mag to easily distinguish them from AR mags.
  7. My new warrantied Accupoint doesn't have nearly as clear glass as the old one. It's blurred around the edges of the field of veiw especially at 1.25X. I can live with it but wish it was better. It's a great optic and the BAC reticle is awesome but I think the last run of glass was less than spec... How much $$$ is the NF 1x4 going to run? My only problem with it is the weight.
  8. I can believe 4.8 inches... Look at the pics and decide for yourself. Remember, the scope is now another inch forward compared to the pics.
  9. Well, take a look at the pic I posted above. I shoot an A2 stock and don't shoot "nose to the charging handle". I'd have to have someone hold the rifle and get a rough measurement, but would guess the eye relief is 4+ inches. It's almost like an IER scout scope. Here's another pic. It was taken when the rifle was first built and the scope was soon moved another cross slot forward after it was taken to get the eye relief right. The forward side of the aft scope ring is now inline with the end of the free float tube.
  10. The LaRue is an nice mount but I seriously doubt it would be acceptable for use with the 1.25x4 Accupoint. This scope has some SERIOUS eye relief.
  11. I don't know about Teran Butler but the ARMS #38 Super Ex and 22Med rings work well with the Accupoint. For more info try: Accupoint on ar15.com
  12. Get a Colt or Bushmaster bolt. Your problems will end.
