  1. She got hurt on that one. That cut just didn't show it. She hit the back of her head on the rim. Flyin
  2. Its for carry. I looked into this but being left handed and talking with the smith at Cylinder and Slide I decided against it. It just leaves the hammer down. Safety is on and when you depress the safety it cocks the hammer. Lets you carry a locked and loaded 1911 with the hammer down. Flyin
  3. I can't speak for right handed shooters but can add my expierence as a lefty. I have tried them all and SVI are the only ones that will hold up for a lefty. Wilson, STI and especially Brown break pretty easily. Brown is the weakest I have found. The male side of an ambi is the weakest link. That Tab breaks pretty easy. The added pressure from a lefty is the problem. There is not much you can do for it. I tried the the SVI because it was supposed to be the strongest metal and so far it proved true. ETA: All the right hand guys I have talked to love the Ed Brown and very rarely have problems with them. Flyin
  4. +1 Virgil Tripp did 2 of mine. I wish he still plated. Sent him the gun, he went over everthing and refitted anything that needed it. All included in the price which was cheap. Flyin
  5. I just sent the entire gun. They Chromed everything except the trigger parts. I was surprised......... Flyin
  6. LOL, Your not even going to show up. You don't shoot in Cold weather Flyin
  7. STI tubes-Grams follower, 13 coil spring and basepad. Just dropped them in, no cut coils. STI tubes have to be tuned to be able to use Bolen followers and springs. If they are not you will most likely get a salt shaker. SVI tubes-Bolen 13 coil spring, follower and basepad. Also just dropped them in and nothing cut. SVI works with Bolen without tuning, atleast the tubes I have tried. Flyin
  8. You don't remove any material. The trigger guard doesn't go behind anything. It pushes against those "tangs" sticking out. Take a pen and push against them. The part that holds the gun comes out when you push them in. Dug this up to better explain it Flyin
  9. Gotta, thanks for clearing that up. I thought you were saying 013 didn't work with STI or SVI but you were just stating your opinion. No problem. FYI The 013 is basically same trigger block as the 012 but with an added locking mechanism. Flyin
  10. I like mine on the side of my hip. I don't like it forward at all because on any stage where you have it sit down it make it hard. It also makes it hard when picking anything up from the ground like brass. I like the muzzle slightly forward and the grip angled back but only slightly. One thing I would recommend is getting the Arrendondo muzzle platform. It helps and I also like the look of it much more. It says its for the 012 but it also works on the 013. Also don't forget you can adjust the height of the holster. It can be adjusted below your belt or up to your hip. muzzle platform The platform that comes with it works but depending on your comp it can be a tight fit. One thing I always do is everytime I bend down I hold onto the gun even with the 013. Just because it has a lock doesn't mean it will always work. That is with any of the holsters. Limcat, Ghost or whatever. Plenty of guns dropped from locked holsters. Flyin
  11. I have several STI mags. I get 26+1 in 2 untuned mags. I get 26 in a Tuned mag from Beven. All the STI have Gram guts and basepad. The mag from Beven is reloadable. STI mags are hit and miss. I have a couple others that are for dryfire because they won't hold as many. I get 24 in one and 23 in another. I have 3 SVI untuned mags using Bolen follower, spring ang basepad. All 3 get 27+1 and run. They are not reloadable. Flyin
  12. I thought that what you were saying but just wanted to make sure you meant it will bullets or anything else. Thks Flyin
  13. Gman, Whats your time using the propped start vs gun/mag pickup? I know when I was messing with it I found it was only about .20 faster at most and not worth the the risk. I also don't use a slide racker. The disaster factor was very high once you add in a full mag and not propping the mag up. Using the bullet as a prop I would have to agree that it could be pretty reliable. Flyin
  14. AFAIK, there isn't any specific rule that says you can't prop a magazine, nor is there one that specifies that ammo is a tool or a prop--ditto for the magazines themselves. I suppose you could use a magazine as a tool somehow, but it would still be within the rules. As long as the WSB does not address the state of the magazines, then it's legal to prop them or stack them, or whatever. Now, as others have stated, if the WSB specifically prohibits it, then it's not allowed. You can be as strict or as liberal as you want to in specifying gun position, magazine placement, etc., as well as foot placement and all that. If you don't want the guns propped on a slide racker, there are ways to fix that without saying "lay it on the other side". Since slide rackers are legal as long as they are affixed to the gun and left there, if you as a stage designer want the gun absolutely flat, well, you have to come up with some way to do that. I know a couple, but I'm not just giving secrets away. A few unloaded or un-holstered starts add interest and a degree of realism to some stages. Too many, though, and the competitors start wondering why they carried a holster and mag holders at all. We must address questions like this with applicable rules, not personal opinion. That's what leads to inconsistency from stage to stage, match to match. Troy The question isn't about using mags to prop each other. The question is about using a bullet to prop a mag up to make the load easier and more consistent. Flyin
  15. In the example I seen happen the RO stated it falls under course construction and has to have the Match Director's approval. That falls under 2.1. Mags fall under 5.4.2 and must be carried on your belt. If its an unload start with mags on table then mags can be used to prop. Like I said don't know if its right or not and probably needs a thread in the rules section like Gman said. Anyways nice load Gman. Flyin
