  1. I'm probably going to fill in as match director for some USPSA matches in a few months. I'm CRO certified and have been set up crew for years. I have zero experience doing stats. I'm going to be able to do OJT with experienced stats people. I want to get a baseline knowledge before I start this. What are the best videos that include getting setting up the match in Practiscore, setting up the tablets, collecting the data after the match, and uploading the data to USPSA and the Practiscore site?
  2. Every couple hundred rounds, a 9mm case gets under the plate on my Dillon 650 case feeder. It's the most common stoppage on my machine. Are there set up things I can do to minimize this?
  3. I did this to the gun. 200 flawless rounds yesterday. No problems with dry fire. I'm glad I looked at this. I would have tweaked both sides of the spring instead of just the right side.
  4. Trigger feels great. Very smooth, as I'd expect for this SKU. Trigger is heavier than my other guns. I suspect it has a 13# spring. My other guns have 11# and a CGW reduced power trigger return spring. Spring is under the trigger bar on both sides.
  5. I have 2 91030s. The oldest, almost 100k rounds and 5 to 10x that in dry fire trigger pulls, is getting hard to keep running. So I went looking for another one. I found one on Gunbroker. It was used, as is. Pictures looked like new and I was buying from a gun store. I bought it. It came in and dry fired fine at the FFL. It looks brand new. The next day, I was going to the range and I was having problems with the trigger. If I racked the slide, without feeding a round, the trigger would occasionally be dead with the hammer back. I can reproduce this sometimes with the hammer back. With the slide off, I can see this happening. The problem is that the trigger bar isn't coming all the way up. If I am shooting the gun, this doesn't happen. I suspect the more violent action on recoil loosens things up enough that it works. I contacted the seller. He contacted the person who sold him the gun, a regular customer. Both of them deny any trigger work on the gun and claim very little use. This is consistent with inspection. In troubleshooting this, I intend to get a new trigger bar lift spring. Is there anything else I should try?
  6. I’m a super senior B class CO shooter. I’ve been doing USPSA for 10 years. I started training in dog agility a year ago. I am finally getting where I can control my dog well enough to take on complex courses. For USPSA stage planning and make ready routine, I generally follow Steve Anderson’s “script”. is there anyone out there with both USPSA and dog agility background who has or can point me to similar procedures for prepping for a trial course?
  7. Really stuck. I tried pushing through with primer rod. No go. It’s about a once for one end with the priming compound facing the short end.
  8. I had already watched this particular video. I did miss the angle he put it in at. That helped. I can't get the trigger end of the trigger bar into the gun far enough to put in the trigger pin to hold the trigger in the gun.
  9. I am getting towards this attitude. That said, I bought a new trigger bar and can't get it in. The old one takes a little finesse. I can't make the new one work. Any help?
  10. Welcome from Newberg Oregon.
  11. I've got about 100k rounds through my 2 SP-01 Shadows. I run an 11 pound recoil spring with an 11.5 pound hammer spring. I'm shooting 125gn SNS conical flat points. Anything lighter and I see no improvement in gun performance and get occasional, but rare, reliability problems.
  12. I put in a new lifter spring. Ran fine for the 92 rounds I took to the range. When I did my normal unload and show clear before bagging the gun, it didn't work. I popped off the slide and found that the lifter spring was slipping out from under the trigger bar. I think the trigger bar has worn out some. Time to order another part.
  13. I disassembled the gun down to a bare frame and cleaned it. Then I put it all together and compared things to my other Shadow. Seems very clear that the lifter spring isn't as stiff as the spring in my other gun. Everything else looks good. I am surprised that the spring went from fully functional to non-functional as fast as it did.
  14. I have a 9 year old CZC Shadow Custom SP-01 Shadow ( P/N 91030). It has close to 100k rounds of USPSA minor ammo through it. Last week, the trigger was intermittently failing to fully reset during live fire. This could happen shot to shot or after I manually decocked the hammer on a loaded chamber. I field stripped it and cleaned it and could not recreate the problem in dry fire. Back to the range this week and the problem is still there and happens most of the time. I still couldn't repeat the problem dry fire. The next morning and It's 100% failure in dry fire. The gun has a CZC short reach trigger kit in it. That's been in for about 7000 rounds. I put this in when I decided to change my finger position on the trigger. It also has a CGW adjustable sear. I put this in about 1000 rounds ago when it seemed that the original sear had worn out.

    ACT-MAG in Shadow

https://gregcotellc.com/cart/cz-factory-mecgar-actmag-c-173/actmag-cz-75b-85b-sp01-shadow-2-9mm-15-rd-co-vt-45203-p-1874.html I've been using 2 of these, with CZC base pads and springs, in Carry Optics for about 6 months. Zero malfunctions. They pass my case gauge. They are cheaper than Mec-Gar and have witness holes for all rounds. Anyone else use these? What do you think?
  16. Sorry, 650. I think the 750 is about the same as a 650.
  17. I’ll be the nay sayer. I’d save my pennies and get a 660/750. Auto indexing is nice. The better primer system is game changing.
  18. I'm a low B class Super Senior. I shoot DPP 7.5s. I've been shooting CO for 5 years. Finding the dot is all about practice. I can't remember having a dot finding problem freestyle or strong hand in years. Occasionally I have a problem weak hand.
  19. Where is this? I didn’t see it when I looked for it.
  20. I'm going to install a CGW adjustable sear in my old Shadow. I've seen several Youtube videos that address this. Does anyone have a recommendation for the best one?
  21. I loved the one about popper calibration. I'd love to see an official NROI popper calibration video. Getting better training, on the rules, to a wide audience, shout be a goal of this podcast. I didn't care for the one on making all big matches L2 or above. That may be an issue, but I don't care about this issue. In fact, most of us don't. The target audience is a subset of match directors. There are better ways to communicate to them. As an alternative, make this a 5 minute discussion in a podcast focused on other things, with broader interest. I was also not a fan of the one about how great the NROI courses are. They are, in fact, pretty good. I'm a newly minted CRO. But I go to podcasts for information, not NROI advertising.
  22. What's your goal? Fast AIWB for self defense? If so, find an instructor in your local area. USPSA or IDPA? Go to a match. Ask questions. People will be happy to give training advice and point you towards classes or videos. I think a few famous USPSA instructors recommend is practice your draw without doing a full trigger press. Focus on a draw to an adequate sight picture. Actually press the trigger in other drills.
  23. Safety does work on single action just fine. Hammer does not fall when on. Interesting that no one is telling me that my guns are beyond repair. Thanks.
  24. I have 2 CZ Custom Shadows (91030). My Practice Shadow has about 80k rounds through it, all on one slide and frame. I can't imagine how many dry trigger pulls it has. My match Shadow has about 40k on the frame and 30k on the slide. I bought a new slide, rather than mill the current one when I transitioned to Carry Optics. I've been struggling with accuracy on the practice gun for years. I moved from .355 Blue Bullets to .356 SNS bullets and that helped. SNS are sill better. But not great. I can shoot consistent 25 yd head shots, with a dot equipped M&P shield plus (Not the performance center version). I can't do it with either of my Shadows. I still like the pulls of both triggers. Everything on my match Shadow works fine, I have always been able to engage the safety on the practice Shadow with the hammer down. Never on the match Shadow. Now, if the safety is engaged with the hammer down on the practice Shadow, I can pull through the safety. I respring the guns and replace firing pins annually. I also replace slide stops and extractors every 3 years. Both guns had CZC short reach kits installed last year. As I see it, I can repair these guns or get some new ones. I'm a low B class super senior. A Shadow 2, or a cool Sig 320, isn't going to get me on the super squad. If I were to repair, I would replace the sear and bushing on the practice gun and the bushing on the match gun. Is repair viable or am I going to run into slide to frame fit looseness? It would also be reasonable to get a new or lightly used new to me Shadow or Shadow 2 as a match gun, repair the match gun to be a practice gun and relegate the practice gun to dry fire only. If I went with the Shadow 2, what other stuff has to change? Will my Mec-Gar 17 rounders with CZC base pads and guts still work? How about the holsters?
  25. I would check with Keith Tyler http://www.tylerfirearmsinstruction.net/Default.aspx There are lots of great shooters doing training. Keith is also a great instructor. Most of the good shooters in the greater Portland Oregon area got there with Keith's help. He retired from law enforcement and moved to Tennessee.
