Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I'm testing Typhoon F12 now and it is very promising. Any problems I had so far were ammo related. BTW I have a question about zeroing red dot. How to best zero it for best use with birdshot and occasional use with slug (usually at no more than 60 yards)?
  2. Getting it sorted out by Wilson would be a problem, given where I live. Cost of shipping it back and forth would pay for new trigger. I just asked for same ideas on source of problem back on M4C and it seem that BCG bounce idea was spot on. TTU-3G has very short reset and short (or no at all) take up. This mean window for proper trigger reset is very narrow. If BCG is doing funny things and/or shooter is not holding trigger tight on recoil (for eg. when trying to be very accurate when zeroing or engaging LR targets), then hammer follow occurs. Actually it happened to me only once or twice in 1000 rounds on stages, while I can do it almost on demand shooting at leisure on the range. My rifle (14.5" HK MR223) cycles rather violently and JP recommends using springs for AR-10 version, so I can not blame either Wilson or JP for that. Not everything is designed or tested to work with everything else mounted in anything.
  3. I use Wilson TTU-3G trigger, but have some problems with hammer follow. Probably due to carrier bounce on JP-SCS, because if I put stock recoil system in, then no problem. Oh well, I just need to play with some springs for SCS (or just dump it) and my hack-saw AGR in my HK Other trigger I use is..... Red Star Arms adjustable AK trigger. This one is like... WOW. Most of top line AR triggers do not even come close. Ah, yes, I do shoot AK style rifle (5.56 wz. 96 Mini Beryl) in 3Gun sometime.
  4. You mean this piece about problems, jams and sadness? Sounds familiar (however I did not have problem discussed now recorded on video). M2 you say? You will open whole new can of worms then... I just got myself M1 Super 90, you know (for 800EUR for new one I just could not help myself).
  5. I had exactly same problem several times with my Supernova, that wasn't modified in any way except Nordic extension tube. In one case it took hammering on forend with barrel (I removed barrel, because BCG was locked with live round) to move action. I never figured out what was causing this. But now, thinking about it... My Supernova was hanging on feeding, because lifter was not directing shells into chamber. Maybe shell stopped in way caused bolt to rotate and jam into receiver?
  6. I have problems with bolt lock back in my HK MR223 as well, with different type of mags. It is quite unexpected, as HK uses uprated recoil spring and heavy buffer so I thought that piston system will be "violent enough" for JP.
  7. Actually this is "condition 2". "Condition 0" is chamber loaded, magazine attached and safety off. BTW Eastern Block countries never used dump pouches. On exercises you collect magazines, but in real fight nobody cared. Especially that doctrine called for massive infantry assaults. If assault is successful, troops can collect magazines later (actually logistics go over battle field to salvage), if not, they are probably all dead anyway and area is under opfor control. I do not think that PLA thinks any different.
  8. Thank you very much! It is great "how to".
  9. I made the addition section from PVC tubing. I didn't sacrifice a loader to make a longer one. The collars joined the parts together. Thanks, it is clear now. I just wanted to make sure.
  10. Thanks! So you used additional tube section in the middle, reinforced with collars. Is that correct?
  11. I have two spare TecLoader tubes that I want to use to make one longer. I'm aiming at 5 rounds capacity (it goes in line with local 3Gun rules here). Is cutting and expoxy ok? Or maybe I should use some plastic welding (like on car bumper repairs) or some reinforcement for tube?
  12. ITAR does not concern shotgun parts with exception of military shotgun (it is written like in first point of ITAR restrictions). Last time I checked MKE 1919 is not military shotgun in USA. Shotgun parts are legal to export (it is "gun parts" that are restricted, not "shotgun parts"). If you will find educated dealer, he should send you US parts with no problem (look for example in Mesa Tactical catalog: only Benelli M4 stuff is marked as ITAR restricted, because M4 is military shotgun under M1014 designation). I believe as well that Austria is not on list of restrictions for countries endangered by terrorism, etc.
  13. Those guys seem to operate their bulpups quite fast and efficient. Look at mag changes. Chinese Army Shooting Competition
  14. I did. As long as it is 55gr Barnaul steel it is "keyholeing" Barnaul makes lot of ammo from time to time that like to keyhole. We've been trough this here in Poland. Also your round count is good time for serious copper removal. I was sure I shot out my HK MR223 barrel in 6000 rounds (some of them Barnaul). It started to keyhole with 55gr, then with 62gr, working only on 75gr and 77gr. But when I got decent copper remover (MPro7), some good polymer brushes, handful of patches and gave it some 2 hours of attention, it came back to same performance as new one.
  15. So I had first match with Supercomp (smaller, No Talon version) and it seem to work very good for me and my rifle. Actually now I slow down rifle, not other way round. I must re-learn to shoot confidently as fast as it allows me. Generally it seem to be good comp and it is not too loud (for those who care). But like every brake/comp, performance will vary from rifle to rifle and for different shooters.
