  1. Hey again everyone. Well I haven't posted here in a long time, maybe over a year. But by no means have I slowed down on my love for Tanfoglios lol. Heres a few pics of some projects we've been working on. This first one definitely belongs in the chop shop pages. Its a very old TZ75 frame and a stock 2 slide frankengunned from whatever parts were laying around. I had to fill all the bad scope mount holes, painted the frame and cut the hammer because of the added bever tail. It Shoots way better then I planned considering the fit isn't the tightest. The other pic has a Stock, Stock 3 and a Hunter. That Hunter is real hard to get up here in Canada if at all, we brought it in from the US. Its now basically a EG Limited Hunter Exreme 10mm. We also built two open guns, a EG Gold and another frankengun. Ill get some pics. Cheers, Evan
  2. This was a genuine sig factory parts SRT kit from Sig in the package. The vendor here in Canada can order from Sig and they got this special order for me. Im gonna have a hell of a time getting them or Sig to exchange. I might make a stink with the vebdor and see if they can order a second SRT kit so I can compare the decocker from new kit.
  3. You can see in this pic of it all assembled very clearly. The decocker is in the place where it should normally decock tge gun. If you look closely you can see the notched sear and how much further the decocker needs to go make contact with the sear now. Cheers, Evan
  4. Ok so got a bit more info. Ok so I pulled all the SRT kit parts back out and if you look at the SRT sear there is a notch of metal cut out of that the factory sear has. it is right where the decocker would meet and disengage the sear. All this info with the previous pics if the decocker differences leads me to believe they definitely shipped tge wrong decocker. The thicker tab on the SRT decocker would definitely make up for the removed metal on the sear. Only question what can I do to my decocker to make it connect with the sear. Bend it or maybe jb weld it. I might even be able to remove some decocker tab material to allow the decocker to go highwr before it contacts the frame. Heres a pic of the two sears. You can see clearly on the left one (SRT) the cutout on the right side of the sear which is there on the right one (factory). Here is the best pic of the difference between the P220 factory and srt decocker I can find. Both the one I have and the new one from the srt kit look like the non srt one in the pic. Supposedly there is a T marking on the srt on which mine does not have either. Cheers, Evan
  5. Hello So I have a newer German made model Sig P220. I just installed a SRT kit (short reset trigger). The SRT install was easy and everthing trigger function wise seems to work properly, and wow what a difference. The problem ive run into is the decocket no longer works at all, it never releases or even engages the sear. The P220 SRT kit comes with a new decocker, with proper reasurch the new and old decockers are different. However the one that came with my SRT kit is exactly the same as the one in the gun. Its seems the decocker no longer contacts the sear at any point with the new SRT parts installed. I have tried to install both the old and new decocker with the SRT kit but to the same resolve. If i remove the decocker system all togeather the gun still functions fine just with no decocker. Everything works fine with all the old parts installed, but its hard to change back as the SRT is so nice. Has anyone encountered this? Is it possible that they have sent me the wrong decocker in the kit?
  6. Very nice setup. Does this one have a hole for the magwell? One downside to the older frames I guess. Cheers, Evan
  7. Not discouraging at all and thanks for useful info, it goes along way and only make me want to learn and do more . This was kinda a hard project to pull off. My open gun is a .40 and thats what we are reloading now so the plan was to make a .40 gun. Since its so hard to find large frame parts in Canada we ordered a bunch of stuff from the states. We got a complete Large frame Hunter 10mm, a Large frame lower, an Eric Gold .45, .45 Stock 2, .45 Match, .40 and a 9mm slide. We kinda had to mix, match and work with what we had to build these two guns. The Hunter frame fits with the EG, the .40 and the .45 Stock 2 (but its to short), but not with the 9mm or .45 Match. My Large frame lower fits with the .45 Stock 2, the 9mm and I havent tried the EG, but it wont work with the .40 and it's tight with the. 45 Match. For now ill shoot my .40 open and the .45 in standard, and ill use the 9mm for practice as you mentioned. I guess well also be looking for .45 dillion 650 parts in the near future, good thing we've been saving our .45 brass for some time now . Cheers, Evan
  8. Here it is with the 9mm slide, a little bit more basic then the .45. Cheers, Evan
  9. Thanks for the info and I know by no means is a .45 my best choice but its fun and I love it lol. I also have a large frame 9mm and .40 slide to play with also, the.40 needs some to work properly fit. And I know your from Toronto also, I didnt need to mention that about the standard division lol. So your saying its just the caliber thats limiting, and will that still apply with our 10 round mag limit? Are you going to get out to the first Silverdale match in March? I wont be anle get out until the April match . Cheers, Evan
  10. Thanks? But thats just a pic. Its actually a large frame .45 built for standard division (basically limited in Canada). As for size of the mags I have plenty of factory Tanfoglio base pad to work with. Dont know what more you can do to make this any more of a Comp gun? Cheers, Evan
  11. Love the look of this gun! Thanks man. I got a little photo happy and heres another one I thought looked good. Cheers, Evan
  12. Very cool gun, we just bought a newer version 10mm large frame hunter and love it. Well ours is minus the cool sight tracker setup, thats awsome. My frame I just posted pics also came with no provisions fora magwell, but I pit one on and it holds tight. I am concidering drilling and tapping a hole for it however, would hate to fall or drop it and have the magwell fall off . Cheers, Evan
  13. So I opted out of the tassel lol and decided to give it a cut , working good now thanks again everyone. Cheers, Evan
  14. You are right the Limited slide has the cut outs on the top, I didnt realize the Stock 2 was shorter then the Limited though. Or do you mean the Stock 2 and the Limited are both 1/4" shorter then a long slide. Cheers, Evan
  15. Our Hunter, Stock 2 and Stock 3 frames do not have it but they are all new, maybe this one (1993) is just an older design they have since moved away from. Cheers, Evan
