Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Anyone use 10-8 front and rear?
  2. Most people I know, whether at work or elsewhere are not afraid of firearms. Actually most own some form of self defense lead dispenser. The main stream media has loosened the dogs of propaganda. Funny thing is, there was a news story the other day that the TV corp's are loosing viewers by the droves....is it any wonder. They no longer present a balanced viewpoint. They are all talking heads reading teleprompters with pre-written programming scripts. Gone is the day of investigative reporting. It is quite obvious to anyone who is awake and aware. There is a gun-grab agenda. I also believe this concern of being "grey" when it comes to firearms depends on where you live. To some degree, being on the down low has its advantages too. If you carry a gun in your car and can't take it in certain places - be responible and get a solid, somewhat hidden lock box that is secured to the car. Criminals look for opportunity - don't give it to them.
  3. While I don't have either the accu-shadow or the Dan Wesson, I do have a Shadow Target and a Ed Brown. FWIW, the Shadow Target is stupid accurate. My EB is also extremely accurate as well. Comes down to what you want to use it for. If it is mainly range/target shooting, I would go with the 9mm as you can get more trigger time for less money (if ammo supplies ever return). I was originally looking for a 1911 in 9mm. A friend had a STI. Not bad, but the recoil impulse was something I just can't put into words except I didn't care for it. I ended up purchasing a CZ75b which put everything into perspective. It was half the price of a decent 1911 9mm, had a 16 round capacity, great ergos and was accurate to boot. One thing lead to another... If you want single action only - get the single action CZ Shadow. The CZ's are a joy to shoot. My friend who shot my Shadow Target pretty much summed it up when he said "this thing shoots itself".
  4. Thanks. I just wanted to make sure before I tried to fit it. Do you recall what size drill bit to use. Any other tips on the install to help me avoid using colorful language...
  5. Picked one up , dissassembled my CZ75b, pulled the trigger bar out, popped out the factory pins, pull out the SA trigger and the pin will not go into the trigger. The holes are too small. I figured it may be some paint overspray, so I took a little sandpaper, rolled it up put it in the holes and removed a touch of the paint and the trigger pin and the retaining pin are still too tight?? They won't advance. Being aluminum, I was not about to use a punch to try to drive them in. Am I missing something??
  6. Other that 1911s??? I'll take a CZ over a 1911 all day! Get your hands on a Tactical Sport and you'll know what I'm talking about. Guess I should have said a custom built or high end 1911..... They are sweet shooters, all steel and accurate as hell. And the entry price is low compared to other high end pistols. And to modify a basic CZ75b...much less than a run of the mill 1911.
  7. Thanks for the heads up. As soon as it gets a little warmer. I will. Its like 10 degrees outside right now...soon.
  8. I reload. I mainly do 9mm and 45acp. Don't do any competitive shooting. I was going to give it a try this summer, but with ammo availability.....I'll have to wait and see. It looks like major fun and could see how it could become very addictive. I have been reading many posts here already and see there is a lot of info to digest.
  9. Just joined the forum. Long time user looking to learn more and continue to improve my shooting skills. Long time Glock user who recently drank the CZ Kool Aid.....nuff said.
  10. Just joined the forum. I have discovered CZ's within the last 2 years. I honestly feel they are some of the best steel pistol's made other than 1911's. I am anxious to see some reviews of the Accu-Shadow. I don't do any competitive shooting, but pictures and information has given me a serious itch that needs scratching. Hopefully someone who purchases one will do a video review....hint. Is the six week wait actually six weeks or is there a possibility of getting one sooner..just curious.
