Looks for Match (2/11)

  1. If you decide to get rid of those slides, let me know. I have a couple of shadows and have been thinking of having one milled for DPP. I saw the CZC dovetail optic mount and like the idea of that simply because it's not permanent. Have any of you tried that?
  2. After weighing my options on this subject, I actually ordered a SS RO today. I can't rule out using this in competition, but I bought it just because I wanted one. Having said that, what minimum modifications do you RO owners make to improve this pistol? I assume removing the ILS system for one.
  3. Each season keeps getting better. The British seem to make 5-6 episodes a season for 3-4 years, making higher quality shows. Unlike season 20 of our US crap.
  4. I can hit about 8 of 10 at 200 yards and about 5 of 10 at 300 yards with a 147 gr Xtreme. Target is a 2 foot plate and rifle is an AR with a 5 inch barrel with a T-2. If I had a magnified optic I'm sure that I could hit them all on a calm day. If I put a magnified optic on, I would love to set up some targets to see the spread.
  5. What's the details on your loads? I'm at 1.155" COL with a 147 Zero JHP and 1.150" with a SNS 147 NLG coated flat point. I am using 147 Zero FMJ @1.150. I will only use brass made in the USA. Almost all foreign brass and the 147 will not pass the case gauge so I gave up on foreign brass and only use brass made in the USA and have not had any jams or case gauge failures. I figured the above out after looking at all the rejects I had accumulated and had to pull the bullets with a kinetic puller. Not fun. When I have some time, I will take a picture of my kinetic puller after the bullets were pulled. What kind of reloader and dies are you using? I can't imagine how I can load absolutely everything and never have an issue, yet you have so many that won't gauge.
  6. I have a 75D PCR, that the wizard known as Lee G. worked on. He installed a CGW extended firing pin with short reset FPB lifter arm, 85C trigger, 13# hammer spring and a reduced power firing pin spring. Everything was polished--he usually polishes the hammer strut AND inside of the spring. Top it off with a stainless steel recoil rod, thin aluminum grips, Meprolight night sights and a Galco IWB holster. Trigger pull is 5.5/3 and it is as accurate as my Shadow. I rarely leave the house without it. If you have never tried the trigger on a PCR out of the box, you will be convinced that you are starting a lawnmower. Expect to do some work. PS. I chose the decocker because I don't have or train with any pistols that have a safety. But I'm not ruling out the next Compact having a safety.
  7. what bullets do you use? Mostly Xtreme 147 with Universal. Sometimes Precision Delta 147.
  8. I've never looked at headstamps and never had a problem.
  9. I shoot 147 xtreme and Universal 3.4, OAL 1.150 out of everything. CZ, Glock, PCC. Today I was hitting a gong at 200 yards with my PCC with a 5 inch barrel and suppressor. I had to aim about 3 feet high, but I was hitting at least every other one. Parabellum? Hell, no. Parabolic.
  10. Starting tomorrow, there will be a lot of people going prone at the Mississippi Classic. I'll let you know how it goes.
  11. Yes, that's what you want....The amount of gap is personal, I like wide cut rears I heard dat.
  12. Lee dies. I don't even case gauge any more.
  13. The accuracy was better with jacketed Precision Delta and the Xtremes might have been a bit better using N340 over Universal, but not much. I was told slower might be better, but I am going to load up some Titegroup using each to see what happens with faster powder. After removing and replacing the barrel, I had no increase in accuracy using any of the loads. I shot some factory 147 flat nose American Eagle and it was probably as tight as the 115 factory that I had used previously. I just need to try to match the speed and load of the factory powder a little better, but I am getting there. Thanks for all the suggestions and keep throwing them out there if you come up with some more.
  14. I see the squadding went out. Does anyone have any information about certain people being allowed to squad early, because I barely had any choices left.
