Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Clays is very good powder for 9mm Minor with 124gr bullets, I'd never tried it with 147gr - may be little too much pressure with those. Try OAL 1.12-1.13", or bump load to 3.7gr - you will def make Minor PF; Clays is all I use for last few years and shot over 40K rounds with Clays. Hey CeeZer , where can i get clays at a good price in VR ?
  2. Moving the DA release up, does that increase or decrease the reset ? If i wish to decrease the reset, what should be done ?
  3. I have a CZ 85 with a shadow hammer , if i load , drop the slide, the pistol is in single action ......... Then if i pull trigger slowly, i mean very slowly , the sear will break and the hammer will drop down about an 1/8 in to 1/4 inch and stop. What happens next is the pistol is in double action mode. In other words i can release the trigger slightly and the hammer will fall and or follow the trigger or i can continue to pull the trigger fully and the hammer will cam fully into full range and drop . The pistol will fire . I bought the hammer from cz custom and did not alter the hammer hooks ( nada ) , the only thing that i did was to mill the hammer thickness to the same dimensions as the 85 hammer . I also have the trigger stop backed way off and i did have a 13 lb mainspring installed , where this issue occurs and reinstalled the OEM 15 lb spring with the same results . In addition to the shadow hammer , i installed the old style 85 trigger as it comes from the factory, no alterations to the trigger The pistol is a current production with less than 1000 rounds with no other alterations any direction as to the cause of this issue and the fix is appreciated thanks
  4. Yikes, all one would ever want to know about OAL and magazines, what a great article thanks
  5. can you explain how you do the barrel drop test ?
  6. Right , that is exactly what i'm asking, Both answers are helpful . I'm new to the 9 ...... and i really do not want to have a bullet seat deeper than what i loaded it to, because of the pressure boogy man, With the single struck Berry bullet with my oal of 1.150 i feel it should be ok, using the double struck Berry's , the bullet is longer, so more bullet is seated in the case at 1.150 . At that oal, i'm getting on thinner ice with pressure especially if the bullet seats deeper going into battery . So, that's why i tried the drop test and was surprised that they didn't seat deeper into the cz bbl .. Loading 45 in the 1911 the drop test is easy, if it fits lower or flush with the hood , your ok . Seems odd that the cz barrel really is not carved in stone for the test but i guess that is the way it is oh, and thanks for the help
  7. With bbl removed from an 85 Combat , what are you looking for in the drop in round test. I tried it dropping the round in the bbl and fully expected the round to fit flush or below the hood button. But it is longer. The round is a dummy, so i chambered it and it fits fine with an assembled pistol . I'm using 125 berry bullets with oal of 1.150 Anyone help with the drop in test ?
