Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Keep this thread going. Found the problem with ours. It was the extractor. We shot geese with some of the rumination 3.5" faststeel I think it is called. I have heard that they have torn up some guns. I have the original xtrema and never had an issue (knocking on wood).

  3. I should probably include more detail. I have a bulgarian and a russian side folding stock. The russian is not on a fire arm. They are identical in terms of the butt. bulgarian side folding stock These stocks are short and fold to the side of the firearm. I am looking to fit a rubber pad to increase the length of pull and get the angle of the pad correct, so it will mount cleanly. There are two holes that are at angles on the butt itself. Will the jig above work for pads that aren't for shotgun or standard rifle stocks? There is no pad made that will fit this stock and still allow it to fold. Thanks for the help thus far.
  4. I don't know how else to title this topic, but I have a side folding stock that is short and I have been trying to design and build a rubber pad that also adds to the length of the stock. I have successfully built on, but I glued the rubber to a piece of lexan and then mounted it to the butt that way. Any ideas for shaping material to fit the stock like a glove? Most of mine looked pretty poor, but functioned ok. I have tried tracing the outline of the butt on paper, but cutting it correctly and straight has been a challenge. Any techniques or tricks are welcomed.
  5. All of these posts have great information, thanks. I am far more consistent with a .22 and the ammo is much lighter on the wallet. I use mine to try and build proper mechanics and fundamentals. I use the old line from The Patriot "Aim small, miss small."
  6. Thanks for the replies. I believe my xtrema is the 1st generation and that gun is ten years old now. I could shoot 200 clays with 8 shot on friday and sat morning load it with 3.5" bb or 2 shot and kill geese. My father's xtrema 2 has been a pain. I have never known the beretta's to be that picky and jam like this. Most of are older models are hard workers. They get clean, but aren't babied. Never had any issues with them clogging from carbon. I will take a closer look.
  7. Are both true 1x? Thanks for the reply btw.
  8. I have been trying to shoot my .22 pistol more for practice. I tend to have A.D.D. at the range and can get bored easily. I have found that if I go to the range with a challenge in mind I stay more focused. If I succeed at the challenge I need to move on to another or build on a skill. My question will probably have a lot of different answers, but does .22 practice equate to the same amount of time with a larger caliber as far as fundamentals building and muscle memory for trigger control..etc?
  9. Has anyone heard of an issue with Beretta Xtrema 2's or any Xtrema extracting light loads for clays fine, but not 3.5" 2 shot? Usually if there were any issues it would be the other way around. Gun has not been used much. Maybe 1000 shells. Took sporing clay shooting back in November and had 0 issues for 2 courses. The went good hunting in december and it would fire the first shot, buy not cycle. You could run the action with you an and it would kick the shell fine. Gun has never been abused and has been taken care of.
  10. Are there any major differences between the MTAC and he tac30? Is the price difference all in the glass?
