Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Yeah, I am able to bring it up enough for the but to clear the belt for production. Thanks again for finding it on eBay, it was a great find. I like it a lot better than the the BOSS and not even comparable to the DOH. -Mike
  2. Here are two photos I just took of the bracket I just fabricated. I am going to clean them up today by rounding off the corners and trimming off some stock. I would have done that straight away, but I needed it for a match yesterday. It was a fairly simple build. I just picked up some aluminum strap in the hardware section at Lowes and a 10x#24 tap. I cut the aluminum to size with my Dremel Tool then marked the location of all of the holes for the holster and the Safariland ball joint. The bracket just needs holes big enough to fit the T-Nuts. For the Ball Joint taping the hole is easy in the aluminum. Everything got a dab of Blue Loctite. The whole fabrication took only 30 minutes total.
  3. That is always the crux to my shooting! I just read that the XD and CZ had less bore space to the rifling so a lot more care needed to be taken with the larger profile bullets. I am probably 'reading' too much into it.
  4. 125gr, 135gr, or 147gr? Due to my my limited M&P going down and the delay in ordering my 2011(lack of $$ LOL), I will be shooting production with a 9mm XDm I got at a match for a while. This will also be my first time reloading 9mm so I had a question on bullet size since I tend to overthink the crap out of things at times. In a previous thread I read that the XD series might have a problem with the larger size bullets due to tighter barrel profile. Any help from XD or CZ (similar barrel profile) reloader's would be greatly appreciated. Equipment: Bullet Type: The Blue Bullets Powder: Titegroup Press: Dillon XL 650 Pistol: XDm 9mm 4.5"
  5. Thanks for the find Eric. I was just looking for a another setup since my limited gun just went down. Going to use a pistol I won at the High Desert Classic in production until I can get a 2011. Maybe I can convince Steve and Heidi to give me a good deal on one that you sold them. LOL -Mike
  6. Kind of an FYI, the Speedcross 3 CS is running $81 and the regular Speedcross 3 in blue/yellow is $75 at Amazon right now......
  7. Yes the plates were panted after each shooter, we went through a case pf paint on this stage alone. Also, just the fronts of the plates were painted white.
  8. I was in the same place you were, then I finally got frustrated enough to get aXL650 this month. I had to tape up my powder setup and I was hand priming all of my cases. The final straw was I was getting inconsistent OAL, +/- mid hundredths on EVERY completed round. I also was concerned with the cost of having to replace my LnL, but looking back it was the best move in my reloading process. We are so hung up on the cost/value equation, but I realized how much FRUSTRATION (or lack of) is worth. Now I just giggle when I am done with a 1000k session, thinking of ZERO problems. Just like Brian said, "I wish I wouldn't have waited so long to upgrade from the LnL to a 650"
  9. I shoot a 40 PRO in limited also. Got all of the Apex innards, the Limited SSS magwell, Race Master holster and mag holders. What base pads are you using? With the TTI pads I get 20 reloadable in the mag. There a few in my club that use modified M&Ps with great success.
  10. Numidian, You are definitely the exception with the problems you are having with your magwell. I have 3 from SSS and the guys that have M&Ps that I shoot with also use them without issue. I have run Taylor Freelance and now the TTIs without ANY issue. Give them an call, their customer service is second to none!
  11. I run the SSS Limited magwell and they work fine.
  12. The Costa Mag Release button turned out to be an Epic Fail. There were design flaws where people were having mags not seat correctly or having mags drop on their own. The TTI pads are awesome able to get 20 reloadable and you can easily take them apart to run a brush through in between stages. I have the SJC and the SSS, I prefer the SSS. The SJC does not have that good of a transition from magwell to weapon, the SSS is a better piece of kit hands down.
  13. +1 on the TTI basepads. From the time of order, less than a week until they were in my mailbox. With the push-pin design, they are easy to service and run a brush through in-between stages. The TF pads are a stretch to do a 20 .40 cal reload, but the TTIs reload with 20 no problem.
  14. Yes the magwell IS HUGE, but I am not happy with the transition.... I was able to send Kenny with SSS a couple backstrap tools to modify. He is shipping out their "Limited Magwell" to me today. From the looks online, it appears to be just as big. I will do a side by side when it arrives. Edit: Sorry for the size of the photo... I resized it to 30% of the original and it is still F-ing huge.
  15. http://tarantacticalinnovations.com is back up and running.
