Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Ha!! Always respect the bikes!! I am thinking I may need to add the short trigger from Hennings.
  2. I just measured my hands, and tip to tip, is exactly 8" palm is 3 3/4" Not sure I would make a nice GYN tho.... My hands are rough and calloused. As an Indycar mechanic, they are perfect!! PM replied. Thanks!!!
  3. Thanks guys! Good advice on the grips. That is one thing that I did like about these guns. The changeability of the grips. I am hoping I can get it to fit without removing any metal. However since I work on an Indycar team, I have access to many machines, even CNC. Hercster, PM me with details and prices of the parts you mentioned, I may be interested. Thanks!!
  4. Hi all! I just bought my first Tanfoglio!! Witness Elite Match in .40 SW. It's on order, so I am anxiously awaiting!! I have a few questions, that I would be greatful for some insight on. I have smaller hands, about size 9, how have you smaller handed guys adapted to this gun? Have you done any mods to make it more comfortable? I will be setting this up for USPSA Limited, what are some essential mods you guys have found? Right now magwell, and mag extensions are first on the list. Finally, what .40 loads have you guys found that work really well in this gun? I know this Q kinda belongs in another thread, but quick reccomendations should be fine. Thanks for your help!
  5. "What's the objective and the accuracy standard?" The objective is to try different powders with different burn rates to see if I can tell the difference. Also to check my reloading skills for consistency. I will use Federal box 115gr as a "standard", and chrono that to start. "Loading Rainers takes some skill not as easy as jacketed, I've seem many that can't load them, easy to spot with those oblong holes in the target when them babies go tumbling along. They just like soft lead bullets except for the .00000000000001 thick coating of copper." What is it about the Rainers that makes them difficult? I have pulled a few bullets after loading, and have seen no deformation of the bullet. Am I lucky, or good? I did have tumbling with 3.2gr of Titegroup. I am pretty sure I let the powder hopper get too low, and it was dropping lighter than that. Is one supposed to load these different than a jacketed bullet? Meaning adjustment to the amt of powder? Thanks everyone!
  6. Just did 3.8gr Titegroup, and 4.1 WSF. 100 each. Now how to load Clays!!??
  7. Thats way cool! Not many people run a slide racker in Limited. No real reason not to.
  8. So I am going to try a few new powders just for the sake of comparison. I will be using my M&P 9mm with the stock 4.25" barrel. Also the bullet will be the 147gr Rainers. All will be loaded the same OAL of 1.150 Baseline load will be; 3.8gr of W231 @ 1.150. This shoots fairly well for me, gun functions well too. I am looking for load suggestion for the following powders; Titegroup, (3.2gr did not work well. I am thinking 3.8gr) WSF Clays (not International or Universal) a suggestion from an experienced shooter Unique These are what I have, and am not going to buy anything else for a while, so please do not suggest that I go buy another powder. This is for my own experience, to see if I can make out the differences. Plus its gonna snow for a few days and loading seems like a good pass time activity. Thank you all!

  10. Nope, been looking for a long time too. Try this one. I got one and love it! http://stores.sjcguns.com/-strse-21/SJC-Mag-Wells/Detail.bok
  11. I found it on Amazon. Search for "The Mako Group" they make all kinds of accessories.
  12. Here is a pic of my M&P 9FS 4 1/4" for Limited USPSA. There may have been "better" platforms( in some peoples opinions) to build a gun for this class, but it fits my hand really good, and it is what I had. Full Apex internals, and trigger 13# recoil spring on stainless rod 3 lightening slots in the slide (did these myself) custom griptape job (did it myself, not sure if I like it. What do you think?) SJC magwell Taylor Freelance 140mm mag ext. Dawson front sight Stock barrel with highly polished feed ramp in it now I have a Storm Lake Threaded barrel going in I polished everything inside that could benefit from it I also worked on the mag release to lighten the button pressure required to drop the mag I found an inexpensive mount and red dot to mess around with also. As soon as I make a comp I can go Open!! It runs great, and reliable. Shoots better than I can aim! recoil is very light and easy to re-acquire sights
  13. I also just switched to Win 231. I like it a lot better than the Titegroup. Recoil was very manageable, metered well in the press, accuracy seemed a little better too. Kinda dirty comparatively, but really who cares? It shoots well, and is inexpensive.
