  1. I try to keep 2 years powder and primers. I shoot 7,000 9mm a year so 4 kg (8 lb) power and 15,000 primers. I have about 6 months projectiles as they are usually available and the higher price makes me hesitate buying larger quantities. I top up when I go under 2 years but will wait for up to 6 months if the price is not reasonable. After 6 months I get a bit nervous and top up anyway. I purchase 2 kg (4 lb) powder bottles and 5,000 primers at a time.
  2. Deja vu - XL650 to the right - Lee to the left (but its a classic) - I'm left handed
  3. I do not think you need to do anything special with 9mm Glock brass. I run range pickup 9mm thru a standard Lee sizing/depriming die and finish with a Lee Factory Crimp Die on my Dillon 650. No problems at all shooting thru my CZ Shadow.
  4. No problems with Federal SPP supply in Australia. I have bought 5000 three times this year. The price is also reasonable for Australia too; $59/1000. Last year they went up to $70/1000. AU$59 = US$45. All things are relative tho. I suppose you don't think your pricing is so bad now right ?
  5. These Gemini-20 cheap scales work well and mine is still going after 2 years; https://www.amazon.com/American-Weigh-GEMINI-20-Portable-MilliGram/dp/B0012TDNAM/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1525349460&sr=8-8&keywords=aws+scale All electronic scales slowly drift so calibrate it each time with the 2 x 10g weights included. Note it will run down the batteries if left in the unit. Once I worked this out my current set has lasted over 12 months.
  6. I had this with a Dillon seating die on my 650. A Lee seating die fixed it.

    CZ Shadows 2 is coming

I wont mention that I shot a friends Shadow 2 on Sunday. Actually, 3 people offered. (ducks and hides). I think the trigger on my Shadow Australia is a little better but the extra weight on the front did make the follow up shoots feel faster.

    CZ Shadows 2 is coming

I have heard numbers between 1500 and 3000 Shadow 2 per month coming off the new production line. The machining is noticeably sharper than the Shadows including the Oranges. 100 per month for the US does seem a little low.

    Shadow 2 msrp

I have Shadow Australia which is similar to the Canadian Shadow Mate. It was AU$1650 (US$1265) with 4 x 10 round mags so thanks to the Canucks for paying for the development of my gun

    CZ Shadows 2 is coming

60 Urban Greys arrived in Australia in October and were all sold. 100 blacks (I think the factory calls them blues) are sitting in customs now, all sold. I believe another shipment of 100 blacks is due before Christmas, 60% sold. How long would 260 pistols last in the US ?

    Shadow 2 msrp

Surely the comparison should be with the Stock III Xtreme. Is there really much difference ? Australian RRP; with 2 x 10 round mags AU$1549 (US$1190) with 4 x 10 round mags AU$1699 (US$1305)

    CZ Shadows 2 is coming

Why not use the new Race Master insert (http://www.doublealpha.biz/rm-holster-insert-block) for the Shadow 2 that DAA have already released. Ooh, new Alpha-X holster; http://www.doublealpha.biz/alpha-x-holster .

    CZ Shadows 2 is coming

Perhaps the urban greys use a coating from a different manufacturer ? Odd that they did not sort this out much earlier.

    CZ Shadows 2 is coming

The first shipment of 60 production Shadow 2 have arrived in Australia. Only Urban Grey in this shipment. AU$1699 (US$1295) with 4 mags or AU$1549 (US$1180) with 2 mags. All 10 round mags here. .

    OEM Recoil springs

18 lb recoil spring ? I believe 14 lb recoil and 18 lb hammer spring is standard on a SP-01 I am running 11 lb recoil and 13 lb hammer on my SP-01 Shadow (with standard firing pin).

    CZ Shadows 2 is coming

Maybe we should stick to the thread subject; you know the Shadow 2. Plenty of room for other posts in other threads.

    CZ Shadows 2 is coming

The CZ marketing approach has been a bit odd. At IWA they had numerous variations including a barrel bushing model, engraved, orange etc etc when they had no plans to produce these variations in the first year. Strange marketing. Normally you swamp the show with the model variations you will announce up front ie black with blue grips and urban. This gives you the opportunity to build up some more juice the second year with variation announcements. They also announced a factory custom build option. Very strange marketing. It also appears that the guns available to date (the final model?) were actually made in September 2015. Plenty of time to build up a warehouse full prior to your release date. We do have to remember CZs previous history with dealer shipments where multiple times they have re-shuffled commercial orders to fit in military orders with the various distributors only finding out weeks after the shipment was supposed to arrive. Looks like nothing has changed.
  20. I am very short sighted and normally wear multifocals. I use single vision lenses in both eyes for shooting. My non-dominant eye has my distance prescription and my dominant eye is setup for front sight focus. Normally your front sight focus will be +0.50 to 1.25 over your distance prescription. Get your optometrist to dummy some up in that frame they have and go outside and check out your vision. Some people cannot adjust to two different focal lengths. I am 50+ and have no problems adjusting when I put on my shooting glasses but sometimes take 5-10 minutes to adjust when I put my normal multifocals back on. I shoot a CZ Shadow in production.

Latest rumour is September delivery in Aus. Keep my $100 safe BB Got offered a Shadow 2 at our club comp. It was the gun from the Aus Nationals that sold for charity. For now I'm sticking with my Shadow Australia.

    SP-01 Shadow Orange

Nobody shoots a CZ 75 (Shadow or otherwise) in IPSC production. The pistol marketed by CZC as a CZ 75 SP-01 Shadow Custom is according to its factory warranty certificate a 'CZ 75 SP-01 Shadow'. An IPSC production approved pistol. If the parts are all CZ OEM then fitting them is fine. This discussion is not really going anywhere and I would rather be shooting my factory CZ 75 SP-01 Shadow Australia. Go on, tell me thats not on the list either

    SP-01 Shadow Orange

I think you are going off on a tangent. I do shoot IPSC and this issue has come up before. What is the model name on the factory warranty certificate ? Are all the parts fitted CZ OEM parts ? Fitting is fine, polishing is not allowed. No issue.
  24. Universal used to be made by ADI in Australia but a few years ago they had a fire in one of their drying rooms. This powder is sold as AP70N in Australia. It had been in limited supply but is now available in good quantities (in Australia). I believe Hodgdon arranged for a number of the Clays powders to be manufactured at a Canadian factory during this shortage. Certainly this was the case for Clays (ADI AS30N). I believe both Canadian and Australian Clays are now available in the US supply chain. Look around and check the country of manufacture. Perhaps the same situation exists with Universal.
