  1. I think there probably will be since C-More is building an RTS2 in a 10 MOA and with a little bit larger window it might work pretty well in high sunlight situations. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Word on the street is that they’ve been really trying to get one of them since they hosted Area 1 back in 2018 but I’m not sure what’s been going on since. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Whatever happened to that range that Lucas Oil built a couple years ago for that PCC match? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I started with a Racemaster and am now using an Alpha X. It seems to work pretty good but I also like to tinker so I think I might jump on the Everglades bandwagon after seeing a couple at nationals. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. The way I learned, good or bad was to shoot a ton of speed focused drills (el prez, blake, etc.) and not worry as much about accuracy for a little while, to really try to push speed. When I feel like it's getting too sloppy (throwing mikes), I'd dial it back a little to get better hits, then once that speed felt comfortable with good hits every time I'd push it again. Also, distance change ups and really wide transitions in practice at speed helps a lot as well.
  6. I bought one of these (https://www.harborfreight.com/double-garage-screen-door-68310.html) on sale with a coupon and just cut it in half to make two of them. I just carry some cut up target sticks to roll it up in and as a little bit of weight on the ends that don't have an aluminium rod in it. They work well even in the wind.
  7. Budget? Have you seen Atlas has increased their prices 13% in 2 years? I love my chaos and I've been wanting to get another one to have my "old" one as my backup but I can't justify buying the exact same gun 2 years later for $800 more.
  8. I originally bought 1k of 147grn 9 major ammo from AA just to get shooting as soon I as the gun came in but as soon as I could get my press setup I started loading my own that works a lot better in my gun. I actually still have like 300 rnds of that ammo sitting in a box somewhere.
  9. I own a pair of Harris & Sons custom fit ear pro and I really like them but I just couldn't justify the extra $1300 they wanted to just add bluetooth to them. That upcharge is worse than the bluetooth option from Porsche in the early 2010s
  10. Just to add to what a few others are saying... a non climate controlled garage is a bad place to put it if you're worried about the "fire rating" because over time the expansion foam that seals the door if a fire happens, can rot because of too many large temperature swings. it might not be as big of an issue where there's higher humidity year round but here in the west it rarely gets over 50% humidity for most of the year.
  11. Cluster, ‘Preciate the advice and thanks for the reminder to get out of your head and be arrogant enough to just tell your self you’re going to crush it no matter what since you’ve put in the effort. I was having a rough match last weekend and thought I could get back on the rails on the classifier but I let the outside pressure of the people I was shooting with and the fact I just need a mid pack A class run to make M, just completely ruin my day. 12. You've probably seen it already but according to Springer's X5 plate mounts the STS2, Vortex Razor, and the Romeo 3 all share the same pattern, so I'm guessing that a low razor mount will work. Though the front of the dot will hang off the plate because of the extra meat it has in the front of the lens.
  13. I think your critiques are on par for what I noticed. The only thing that really stands out to me that you didn't mention is your left foot position after your 2nd reload engaging that back array. You have all of your weight on your right foot which possibly caused you to miss your 1st shot on steel and, I'm just guessing here out of the blue, have a D on the far right target in that same array. If you had both feet planted, you would have been a lot more stable to shoot those mid to longer range shots. Just from personal experience, not saying this is the only answer but, when I have to come into an array like that one I would rather plant my left foot on the fault line ( If i know that I'll put that as a detail in my stage plan) so I have a standard/comfortable shooting position. While that might feel a tad uncomfortable to shoot that far left target, it's a lot closer than the others and I'd rather be in the best/most stable to shoot good shots on the longer range stuff. Plus with your left foot being forward, having to move to the right can start sooner/be easier since your legs aren't crossed up.
  14. No I didn't stay with the same platform. I was shooting an XDM9 4.5" in production and then a Edge style 2011 in Limited and noticed that it was more difficult to swap between the two just because of the trigger profile/pull weight and the overall feel of the gun. I think overall the biggest key is just to become as comfortable as possible with whatever platform you decide on and for an Open gun why not buy a 9mm instead of 38SC? you could just shoot it minor with factory ammo and/or if you have the components/press setup load major or minor.
  15. When I got my Chaos a month or so ago Adam said he still liked Silhouette. Also another buddy recommended it as well for 9 Major. 9 Maj - 7.6grn Silhouette, 124 MG JHP, WSP, 1.165" oal, 171ish PF
  16. For me, switching from Production and limited to Open really helped me pick my speed up a lot as well as help with accuracy. I was able to learn how to get the gun up and shooting a lot faster than before and learn how to call my shots. I'm still not the greatest at it but I can see a lot of progress so far this year. As a side note, a good chunk of the better (M/GM) limited shooters that I know have an open gun that they use occasionally for a multitude of reasons. movement, speed, shot calling, etc. As for weather to go with a CO or Open gun, IMO I'd say it depends on what gun you are shooting now in Limited. If you are shooting a Glock, Walther, etc., I'd probably go with CO so you can keep the same feel (grip & trigger press) of the gun but, if you are shooting a 2011, Tanfo, CZ, etc. I'd go with an Open gun for the same reason just so you don't have to learn to run a completely different platform to get better.
  17. I'm still not 100% all the time with my shot calling but shooting an open gun really helped get the point across of seeing where it's lifting off the target. A drill that Travis T. mentioned in a class that I took was to just stand like 5-10 yds. away from the berm and shoot some rounds without aiming at anything to get your eyes use to seeing that dot/front sight lift from a position. Then once you "warm-up," put a target at 25yds (or a distance where you can't see the holes clearly) and one right next to where you're standing. Then for every shot you make @ 25yds mark the location where you called the shot on that target right next to you then go compare the 2 targets after 5-10 shots. I've tried this and it seems to help. Also I've heard (I think it was a Stoeger idea) but haven't tried, a twist on this where you can shoot it at 10-15 yards but you put a shot up target a yard in front of it so you can't physically see where your shot's went.
  18. All I've heard is some unsubstantiated rumors of a possible All in one Nationals again but my guess/hope is All-in-One Nats in Las Vegas, in October.
  19. From everything I've seen posted about the topic I've seen 1 logical explanation which is this was an "Outlaw" time plus event, NOT a USPSA match. In 3-gun a lot of rulebooks have clauses in the rules to allow the RM to be able to make rules on the fly should there be any unforeseen circumstances. So in this case, the RM didn't like him "burst-firing" aka physically bump-firing the gun, told him to fix the issue after the 1st day, 2nd day he keeps doing it and does it in while the RM is watching and I guess what you see in the video MHitchcock is talking above is what is the followup.
  20. just a thought but....how much time did the fumbled reload cost you? 1.0 second? If it did cost you that 1 sec. then, to me, you're right where you need to be as far as the combination of speed and accuracy. I mean the goal is to always get better and faster but with the way I calculated it (if my guesstimation was anywhere close to accurate), 1.2 draw .25 splits and .3 transitions, 2.0 reload with only 2 points down, that fumbled reload is what cost you entirely. If that's not the case then it could be a combination of slower splits and/or transitions in live fire than in dry fire. I know for me, I struggled a good bit on transition speed in live fire this summer and started to try and train it out because I could rip .17 splits on target not accurately and my transitions were like .5-.6 between 2 that were less than 3 ft. apart @ 10 yards. So I slowed down my splits on target to get better hits and just increased my transition speed because even if I'm shooting it in the same amount of time, I can let the gun settle just a little bit longer to get a more accurate 2nd shot.
  21. What is your current class in the division your training for? Open A How much do you really dry fire? 30-45 mins a day: 4-6 times a week depending on what's going on. I haven't done as much as I should have in the past month. How long have you been dry firing at that level? 5 months What type of dry fire program are you doing? random small stages to work on getting in/out of positions, reloading out of positions moving both right and left, and going through my list of "stuff I suck at" How much live fire training are you doing? 2-3 times a week, 2-400 rounds depending on how I feel and what type of drills that I'm doing. What classes have you taken? I took a Ron Avery class like 4 years ago (don't remember anything specific from it) and went to the Pro Shooter Experience in May Do you feel your current training is sufficient for your current goals? No, I really need to step up physical training (getting in shape) and being more consistent in training Do you do any mental specific training? No, just a lot of air gunning around the house and visualization around the office Do you know the training routine of any top level shooters? not in specific detail but I know JJ dry fires a whole bunch (jokingly titles himself the 11yr running dryfire national champ)
  22. Not to be too much of a bummer but for $8 more you could just buy the DAA Racer pouches; which, from everyone I've talked to and personal experience, seem to be better than the racemasters for a load of reasons. Plus you would be supporting a company that supports our sport tremendously instead of a knock off parts manufacturer trying to make a quick buck.
  23. I have started to walk around the back and sides of the stages to count targets before I even start to make a plan, just to make sure I know if there's something that's hidden or if the stage doesn't have see through walls.
  24. TL;DR The average velocity between the 2 guns there was an approx. difference of 2.3%. Is that enough to be worried about? I was in a rush and forgot to take a target out so I didn't check accuracy. Full story: When I got home yesterday I pulled both of my guns apart and compared the barrels. From what I can tell on my main gun there is maybe 1 rifling "lug" that looks a little eroded compared to the others. I also grabbed a loaded round and tried it in each barrel to see if I could feel any differences in the chamber between the two. I found that on the problem gun, the chamber was a tad longer in comparison to the top of the barrel lug (~0.020") and had more play on the sides than the other gun. After I did all of that, I cleaned both barrels up, and tightened the comp on the problem gun (noticed it had about 3° of rotational movement). I shot 3 rounds out of each gun of 147gr. AA factory ammo and some 124 PDs that I loaded to the same charge and OAL. Below is the table of the shots: 124 PD, 7.4 grn 572, 1.165" OAL Backup Gun Main Gun FPS PF FPS PF 1390 172 1348 167 1402 173 1370 169 1400 173 1373 170 sum 4192 4091 avg 1397.333 1363.667 velocity difference 33.66667 % difference 2.41% 147gr.
