    Bruce Gray work

I have a problem with that claim as well. However, there's always two sides to every story - all we hear on the forum is some anonymous poster calling himself Round_Gun_Shooter making a claim of poor service from a Gunsmith calling himself - Bruce Gray - I happen to know Bruce Gray, I've never heard of Round_Gun_Shooter. Bruce and Company certainly doesn't need me to defend their name - their actions [pun intended] speak for them. That said, Gray Guns has worked over several of my guns - that last being the Sig X-Five I compete with. As of last Saturday, it has over 5000 rounds through it since GG worked on it and it has been absolutely flawless - not one failure.
  2. I'm not having any issues with my X-5 AllAround since you worked on it for me, at all Bruce. However, I am also interested in the comparison of the factory vs the BarSto barrel. Steve Aikens
  3. And that - for me - is the end of the discussion. Handguns, personal safety and responsibility go hand in hand. The closest thing to a round in a dry fire area would be a factory snap cap that's clearly distinguishable from a live round, if you feel the need to use a snap cap.
  4. Even though the OP has made his choice, I just replaced my severly aging Chrony Delta with a Chrony Gamma Master. There was nothing wrong with the Delta but working up a number of loads at my range [15 miles from my house] and writing down the information simply got old. I decided I needed a printer and was happy with the Chrony brand so that's what I went with. Pain in the butt getting it setup and getting used to all it does but I'm really happy with the result. Also sold the Delta for $25 and made the buyer happy too. No other interest than a satisfied user.
  5. I understand that like all of us, when we have a shooting issue, we want get it worked out right now - not later. However, there are times just working on it ourselves with some quality advise from others, as you've gotten here, until we have a chance to attend some serious training may be the solution we're looking for.Bruce Gray and his staff have a Practical Fundamentals Course scheduled - June 8-10, 2012 - Smith Mountain Lake, VA. Check it out here: This will really help. Good luck. Aikens
  6. I really didn't think there was a real reason to do this. That said, I decided if there was going to possibly be an improvement with 9mm loads, considering what it cost to give it a shot, I ordered from McMaster Carr. Got the mod done Tuesday and was pleasantly surprised how well it worked. Thanks for the awesome tip guys. I'm amazed how smooth it is now.
  7. Regardless of the poor instructions, I have the RCBS Bullet Feeder setup on my XL650 now, on the 9mm toolhead. I ran 300 rounds yesterday - flawlessly - in under 20 minutes. Taking my time and watching everything, 15 round per minute is a breeze. So far, I'm satisfied with this setup. Note that I use the Strong Mount to get the press to the height I want it. To match that added height, I used a 4X4 bolted to the bench. Works just fine.
  8. I see three. Not good. OTOH, it's really pretty easy to keep an eye on the bullets and pull the cartridge before it hits the seat die. My guess is the tilt of the feeder is too little on the installation shown. I'm in the process of setting up an RCBS on my XL650 and hoping I don't see much of that problem. In case anyone was wondering - the RCBS Bullet Feeder Installation Instructions absolutely suck. Maybe I'm ignorant of RCBS but I expected better.
  9. I just loaded up some 124gr Rainier FPs, over 4.6gr of Zip, over Federal 100 primers. OAL is 1.1 which is about right for FP bullets. Feels about right, a little less recoil than the factory loads I've shot through this gun [sig X-Five All Around] but the gun cycles great and accuracy was very good. Have to set the chrono up but I think I'm running somewhere between 950 to 1000 fps which seems about right based on other bullets using Ramshot's load data for Zip at 4.6gr.
  10. I suggest you look at a correction chart. I was going to post a link to one but I can't do that becasue I haven't posted enough here yet. Not sure how it's going to work out but I've attached a .pdf of the chart. Hope this helps. Steve Aikens C-Correction Chart.pdf
  11. Got them Jim. Thank you very much. Steve Aikens
  12. Am I the only one that thinks it odd that PACT doesn't have the instructions for their timers posted on their site? An Internet search also comes up dry. I have a PACT Club III Timer that I can't get off of par time. I bought it new a few years ago and either I have a problem or I've gone brain dead to change it. Does anyone have a copy of the instructions they can either post or email me? steve@nmpcs.com It would be greatly appreciated. Waiting to call PACT tomorrow won't help me today. Thanks in advance. Steve Aikens
