Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I typically deprime on a single stage press, then tumble, lube and run it through four normal dies (size, powder, seat bullet and it is a typically a good idea if you are running an AR15 to crimp). Good Luck
  2. I have had similar experiences with 45gr bullets in a 1-8 twist barrel...initially decent accuracy, then could barely hit the target at 100 yards after a few rounds. I switched to my 68 gr hornady's and then sub moa (without cleaning btw). Light bullets typically do not work well in high twist barrels. If you do a quick google search and pick the ammo.AR15.com, they have a good Q&A about twist rates and bullet weights. (I tried to post the link, but I guess I am too new...but the search will get it for you)
  3. I have a J&T 20" Wilson Air Gauged HBAR semi custom AR, JP Enterprise muzzle brake and a JP adjustable gas block (not sure if either would affect velocity significantly). My load is 55gr Sierra Blitz King, 25.6gr Benchmark, 2.260 OAL, using 7 1/2 Remington Benchrest primers delivering 3264fps. I have used LS, Fed, and Win brass with no more than 100 fps deviation between them. I found the Rem benchrest primers gave me about a 200fps bump from std CCI or Winchester primers. Also my brass has showed very little stretch or signs of head seperation and I have loaded the current cases (LS06 specifically) 2 times so far...moving onto the 3th time soon. My groups are usually about 1-1.5 inch at 200 yards...on a good day Good luck
