  1. Have also used the Safariland 568 with mine works well and the lining easier on the finish.
  2. Have a Dawson Ice on one and a Tech well on my other 40 1911, prefer the Tech well.
  3. Have a Sig Elite in 40 never a problem also A STI Sentry with the Brazo Competition parts, Koenig hammer and Sig flat trigger installed. never a problem with the Sig but can not say same for the Senrty(not going to complain here, when it runs runs great). Planning on selling the STI and buy a Sig Max in 40.
  4. Have a Sig Match Elite in 40, it's stainless NOT a Max but costs less and that can be used to upgrade what you want.
  5. Have to vote for the tripps main reason being one of the ranges regularly shoot matches at is sand, and one grain between the follower and body or spacer and its scored at best or jamed up and the rounds fall out.
  6. Have the techwell system with the G 10 grips, work very well except you can not use GI issue type mags with add on basepads the ends of the bottom extensions will hang up after pass through the mag well. Also have the Wilson's. Prefer the techwell but both are good.
  7. Have a Sig Max, their slide design makes the normal Bladetech holster too small the screws are just about out. Do you think the edge holster would be too big?
  8. Sig Max comes with a flat, felt great picked up one from someone who took it out of their Max and put it into my Sig Match Elite in 40 along with the EGW competition set.
  9. Very few manufacturers make them in 40, right now I think only STI and Sig. Speaking from experience with one from both of them, can say for what ever the reason or problem a 1911 in 40 is more finicky then in 45 or 9. Might be the one of the reasons except for special order only 2 manufacturers right now.
  10. Use 200he for 45 and 180 for 40. Impulse wise not much of a difference to me, personally find the 40 gets back on target faster.
  11. Have a P226 stainless match elite. Put in the short reset, Dawson FO front with the Warren tactical rear and now use it for production. Personally worked on the DA first shot and in a 18 to 32 round stage you can't put that much thought into the one time you go DA.
  12. Just an observation, people who run Kimbers for the most part, like them, basically replace the same parts/add the same parts or tune to their liking as much as every other brand. They advertise in all the magazines back pages, costly so maybe the added price. IMHO you go to a match, read Front Sight or other mags, see the Pros, see the sponsorship shirts watch the better shooters the Name Kimber is not there. So you think there must be a reason for STI, Springfield, S&W, etc not Kimber true or not. To ignore such a customer base, one that buys as often as us competitors is as can be seen their loss.
  13. Facts for both already listed above, really your choice, although the 10 rounders you can use for SS and limited 10.
  14. Have a Grand Raptor have used in SS a few times no problems, but really too nice to ruin the finish on. Would have to say if Love2shoot comments has to be a reason. That said MAYBE if Kimber sponsored our sports more might be used, seems they are the only major 1911 manufacturing company who doesn't. Available for sponsorship Kimber email me ;-)
  15. No if ands or buts for 40, Tripp
  16. GOT your belt today. BRAVO quality is there and the price was way beyond great. Thank You. Mentioned on a local forum good luck with it.
  17. Not one who can make one big hole, but can say the Max has always hit where I aim. For the most part when you spend $800 or more the gun will be more then accurate, the days of needing to redo 1911s to just make them shoot at a target and hit it are long gone, too many companies out there now.
  18. Have a Sig Max now for over a year and used it for matches, put on a wider front sight found too much opening on sides not right for me. No failures and gun runs better then me. Only down side due to the wider slide ALOT of holsters not compatible without modification to it. For the price you cannot go wrong and IF you want to do more work to it it's price saved you 800. To use.
  19. Have the Sig Elite in 40, always break in a pistol with factory ammo. The Sig put on a FO front sight and the Hogue 3 piece G 10 set, a MSH and the side panels, rough but not that terrible and good for competition. Went with a 14lb recoil spring. The STI no trouble with factory, but that one prefers longer rounds and doesn't like Rainers plated FP.
  20. Picked one up when I gave up on the Max ever coming out in 40, Also picked up a STI Sentry, which has been nothing but headaches while the Sig none. Put on a FO front good to go. Also went with Tripp mags.
  21. Have the 45 and really like it, the safariland 586 holster also works with it, not so the Bladetech. Didn't like the dots on the rear sight so blackened them out and went with a wider front, older eyes thin didn't work. Unless you have seen it in 40 and not just on Sigs site,I gave up believing in it last year after on order for 2 years and picked up a Sig Elite in 40.
