Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Holy F*** sauce. One day after I got home and began cleaning my gun, as I slid off my slide cover plate the extractor spring or whatever it's called popped out more than usual and the black plastic at the end came flying out and got lost in my room. I found it... it looked broken... I slid it back in place, finished cleaning the gun and put it back together. Everything seemed to work fine when I was just operating the slide and dryfiring at home. I didn't go shooting for a long time after that so I forgot about it. Now I realize I've been having ejection problems for a while no matter what load I use... Does anyone think this is the culprit?
  2. Hey you had posted on a thread about casings not ejecting properly. Your question was which ejector part number does the person have. My gun used to work fine with the 336 but now I have the same problem as the other guy. Do you know what the solution is?

  3. I am having the same problem... My casings get stuck between the barrel and slide as it's closing. I tried shooting the final round from my magazine several times and the magazine even locked open. But the case barely falls out. The wierd thing is I didn't change anything... this just sorta began happening over time. Perhaps it was when I switched from JHP to FMJ but they are both 124gr. Anyways it kept gradually getting worse with the same ammo. I wonder if the 12lb recoil spring I'm using isn't strong enough and the excessive rearward recoil is causing the slide to bend or change something in the gun. I get the feeling like my slide sits further forward on the frame than before too. I do remember a few occasions where I took off my compensator but didn't put on a factory weight recoil spring and shot a bit before switching. Could this have caused something to bend and the gun's performance to change? Here is the troubling part I am now trying a couple tests and am getting varied results. When I put an empty case in my chamber (and loaded mag), I get the same problem I get in the shooting range when I operate the slide. THe casing just flips in place or barely pops out. When I pull the slide back real hard and harsh the casing just barely pops out from my hand movement... but it doesn't spin or eject and it usually winds up flying forward or backward. But when I do the same thing with a practice-round (no powder or primer) it pops out to the right spinning. Does anyone know what to make of this or if it is normal?
  4. I used to find that I don't shoot accurately on my 1st shot but better on my follow-ups. We all know that if you release a trigger slowly and stop when you hear/feel the reset, it's a lot easier to break off the next shot without jolting your hand. Have you already considered this? Did you try resting your finger on the trigger before you release the slide so you get the same feel on every shot? I don't want to offend you, I'm not saying your a lousy shot.
  5. I re-read my question and I didn't make any serious errors that you couldn't see past. Let me break it down for you. 1st, I joined this forum to give/get info. about reloading ammo and racing. Then I realized it would only be appropriate to have a page where I can refer people to where I introduce myself and my guns. Obviously this thread won't serve as such now that you people have taken up the entire first page giving the most useless information. The person that referred me here told me there would be a lot of helpful people here. Then I spent about an hour making a new e-mail address, a new website, waiting for a confirmation email bla bla bla so that I could upload some pictures to show you guys of my gun. Along with a "bio" of the gun. Then I typed up a very detailed description of the gun and used the "insert image" feature to add an image. I hit submit and of course it doesn't work because they want to prevent "spam". But what I am saying is that when I want to start asking questions or posting comments down the line, I will need to be able to show you guys pictures to help you understand. Let me give you an example: "Why does the finish on my chamber look like this?" [image] "Is it related to low quality finish that can't handle the heat? Or is it friction from the slide running against it?" -- The best I can say to describe the appearance is "faded" but that doesn't tell you if it was faded by heat or friction without looking at it. Get it now? (NOTE above: I didn't insult you... You didn't even ask me for help or a question. But I took the time to help you understand something that you couldn't) Sorry -- FlexMoney can you please delete my thread or just delete everyone's message so I can make a Bio page for myself please? BTW: I used to be what's called a "moderator" for a forum when I was in HS. I spent about 4-5 hours a day chatting with members and deleting spam and double posts and trash talk. Nobody paid me or the other 20 moderators on the forum. We did it because we enjoyed using the forum and wanted to keep it a chill place to post. The admin had made a thread one day "Accepting Volunteer Mods" and at least 40 people volunteered. It was a very successful forum. Maybe you should consider this for this forum as well... Lastly if I was a spammer I would make 100 random posts in 10 minutes. For example look at the replies I got on this forum. Not a single one addressed the question asked or gave any usefull information. These people are just wasting forum space and lowering the class of the forum. I HAVE found a very helpful person after my 1st post on the forum so I don't want to make any snap decisions about the majority of the people here just from my 2nd encounter.
  6. Hi guys... I have lots to tell you about myself but it would be boring if I couldn't post pictures. Well the owner of the forum obviously thought he could get more hits by encouraging people to post more when he made a rule that you can't post links/pics when you're new on the forum... however the problem is... I don't think I can communicate my questions/comments clearly without posting pictures. I just spent an hour making a new e-mail and website JUST so that I could post pictures here but I can't. Does anybody have any suggestions? Or do I have to actually shrink my photo's down to little thumbnails so I can upload them here? I think this is a bit bizarre... But I've heard that this is the place to learn about Glock Racing. Any suggestions are appreciated. BTW: My name is Arya. I am 27 years old and live in Ca/Az. Much Love, Arya
  7. At this point I'm new to reloading and here to learn but is it possible that 147gr. is too heavy for autocomp? Since the bullet is heavy you will get high compression at lower speeds than with lighter bullets. The reason I ask this is because I think even the Winchester Rangers aren't that fast in 147 gr. I thought 147gr. was for highly supressed guns. Thanks for any information.
  8. In short, I think your slide is clapping back with too much force. Either tighten your spring or lighten your load. Before you take my advice you should know I'm a total noob and I don't reload my own ammunition so I don't have as much "experimenting" ability to be sure about this. But here is what I know: Since I got my Jager Compensator I've been trying to figure out how to make it work with Factory Loads. Unfortunately the owner of the company hasn't even dared trying as the compensator is too effective in reducing recoil for most factory loads to cycle. (Explained to me via e-mail). We had a huge sequence of e-mails back and forth over the coarse of 3 trips to the shooting range with the compensator. He even sent me a couple of free recoil springs to try out since I was without a job (kind man). Basically... My 1st trip was with a factory spring and light ammo... The result was that with EVERY SHOT the casing would not eject but the slide was able to grab the next round in the magazine and therefore it would get stuck half open. I could then operate the slide by hand, ejecting the casing and loading the next round. My 2nd trip, I was using a lighter spring and 115gr. Blazer ammunition. Same problem, less frequent. Then I tried a box of 124gr. Blazers and only had 2 jams out of a box of 50x (not competition good yet). So on my 3rd trip I took 3 boxes of 147gr. Blazers and an even lighter spring. I shot several rounds and EVERY SINGLE SHOT failed to cycle because of the same exact problem you're describing. So I threw in a heavier spring. Now it was like before... the casing was not slipping but just failing to eject. So I threw the lighter spring in again and again it went back to shooting EXACTLY as you described on EVERY SINGLE SHOT. So in a nutshell... with 147Gr. and a 17LB spring... I did NOT have your problem. But with a 12LB spring (tweaked to be even lighter), the extractors were slipping off of the casing. Since you reload your own... maybe you're loading them just a tad bit too hot for your spring or maybe your spring has lost tension. Perhaps you should replace your recoil spring with a new one. I was able to reduce the strength and size on mine a LOT by leaving my slide open for a week with my Wolff spring but not so much with my ISMI. If you're using a Wolff -- I DEFINATELY suggest replacing the spring and seeing if that solves your problem. Pardon the faulty terminology. Good Luck, ~GlockWise
