Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Thanks for your responses everyone, shot the gun and had a great time. First time using it in an action pistol event.
  2. Thinking I might shoot my HiPower at the IDPA match this weekend for kicks, would this holster be legal?
  3. Classy response, not what I would have typed. Kudos. ETA: deleted the rest of my response, as it was rather antagonistic in nature... Going along with this thread though, isn't an RO required to stop a shooter immediately upon deciding that they have done something to earn a DQ?
  4. S&W offers a 15rd 9mm mag specifically for NJ. ETA: To the OP, you could look at those rubber stick-on pads that attach to the bottom of your baseplate. Might give you enough length to be able to seat the mag. Won't work. The stock baseplates are too big to fit inside the magwell. Those SSS basepads from the 2nd post are the way I went too. Ah, well then yea I guess SSS is the way to go then. Nevermind me.

  6. Just wait 'till ya see their new .45! Make sure you're sitting down when you see the price tag
  7. Just gave it a second look. Not quite the Ute... but very similar.
  8. Crappy version of the Chevy Ute.. http://carscoop.blogspot.com/2010/11/lupinipower-chevrolet-sportute-is-wild.html
  9. Sorry, the rounds all went where I pointed them. I am not a bullseye shooter so that's good enough for me.
  10. That was the original plan. Since then I have practiced with the 1911 many times with a buddy who shoots USPSA and I really enjoyed it. I have also been shooting his 2011 from time to time which is SOOO nice. I'm quite jealous of these speed rigs. Shooting the .40 in production puts me in major's doesn't it? Production is scored like minor, regardless of you hitting major power factor or not. In Limited you have the ability to be scored as major in calibers .40 and up.
  11. Shoot the 1911! No sense in buying a new gun before you've even tried the game. Also, ask your friends if they have spare rigs they can lend you to try out different classes before jumping in with both feet.
  12. Here ya go. My hand isn't that large.
  13. I never lube nor sort cases, and experience the same variation. It results in a bit higher standard deviation (40fps or so) but I'm not loading anything super hot, nor am I right at the ragged edge of power factor, so it's inconsequential.
  14. Did some more chrono work yesterday, and wanted to share my results with the class. Gun is a Sig P226 USPSA(4.4" barrel), weather was approx 60*. Shot strings were 15 rounds. W-231 powder, MG 115gr jhp bullets, CCI primers. 5.1gr @ 1.150 oal High: 1226fps Low: 1197fps Spread: 29 Average: 1213fps Power factor: 139.4 4.8gr @ 1.135 oal High: 1164fps Low: 1120fps Spread: 44 Average: 1137fps Power factor: 130.8 4.8gr @ 1.120 oal High: 1186fps Low: 1142fps Spread: 44 Average: 1186fps Power factor: 133.8 Hope this helps someone!
