Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Not mounted yet, i'll post em when done. I'll turn on the overhead light too
  2. I'm thinking I'll probably end up with a bar stool. Seems like about the right height.
  3. Thats what i was thinking bout it being a little to the right. I'll do the board thing. It's a steel office desk.
  4. I'd need it in the center where my legs would go under the desk while sitting in the computer chair though wouldn't i?
  5. Thanks, i'll sit it there and check it out and see how it feels
  6. Thanks poppa bear, how far from the edge? I think i may need a taller computer chair
  7. Wow no replies yet, figured this would be pretty simple to answer lol
  8. Where should i mount the 550? It has strong mount and roller handle. Im figuring center or a little to the right. How far from the edge? Also the lee will be mounted directly to the desk somewhere near where it is above the missing drawer so that it doesn't block any drawers.. It'll come off the 2x6 frame thing. I bought it from a friend that way, its just sitting there for the pic. I also have a dillon swager, where should it go? I've had this stuff for a few years and just now getting around to it. I mounted the 3/4" plywood with a 5/16" nut and phillips head bolt countersunk in each corner. The top of the desk is thin sheet metal with a thin layer of formica type stuff so it was too week. I'm also gonna mount a vice on the left front corner. Thanks.
  9. hmmmmmmmm i'm gonna have to check mine out. I was measuring(experimenting) some powder for the first time other night. I was comparing my digital to my beam scale to check the accuracy of the digital which is a used cabela's. when i'd tare it out with the pan and put powder on it, it was dead on but when i'd remove the pan and powder and put it right back on it'd be off by .2 to .4 of a grain every single time. Only way to fix it was to get the powder out of the pan and retare it... I think it has batts in it from previous owner, as It is plugged in. I'll take them out if so and try again. thanks for the heads up!
  10. I have a dillon 600 swage on the way that I found cheap. Thanks for the help from everybody. Is $87 shipped for 1000 hornady new 55gn fmjbt bullets a pretty decent deal?
  11. I have a case gauge for 223 so got that covered. I'm still in the process of figuring out how to best mount my press to my steel desk. trying to avoid putting the 3/4" plywood on top if possible.... i'm gonna use the desk as a general work surface from time to time also and it'll get beat up I think and look terrible.
  12. thanks guys! so the powder bar should slide all the way back and forward when the handle is pulled all the way down and pushed all the way to the prime position right?
  13. I got my new 550 put together yesterday. I am a little confused on the powder measure setup on 223. The directions say to push the handle forward into the priming position and screw the blue finger adjust on the end of the steel rod till it just contacts the white plastic piece that goes through the bracket on the press. I did this, but on the linkage of the powder measure, should it go all the way forward/ should the powder bar go all the way to the front? seems like it should so as to fill the powder compartment all the way. To make it do this I have to screw the blue thumb screw much farther than the directions say. Thanks for any advice!!
  14. Just found this on another post. Is this right? If so, how does it resize the neck and do this at that same time? "The powder die on a 223 does not bell the case mouth. The depriming pin shaft opens up the case mouth and the powder die simply holds the case for adding the powder."
