What charge weight are you using for 135PF? The data they list just seems really low.

I have a mess of 147gr Precision Molys. I found some Ramshot Comp at the store the other day. Looking through some of the post here, people are using 3.3 to 3.5gr of Competition with similar bullets. But Ramshot list the max load for lead 147 as 2.8gr, which is supposed to barely make minor. I checked for Ramshot data in my Lyman 49th last night and the only powder listed is True Blue, and the data is WAY off from Ramshots listed data. Any ideas?

I'm loading a 147gr Precisions at 1.115" with 3.5 of N320 with no problems.

If you don't want to change your load, put a .160" front site on there, that should be pretty close to POA=POI.

Thanks for the advice. I like the way the 3.5gr load feels, and I am hesitant to go lower. Reason being that the brass looks like it is hardly getting out of the gun. I will make some 3.3's or 3.4's and see how those do.

I think it may be the chrono...I have used this same jug to load 147gn Zero's and they were VERY consistent. I have to ask the stupid question though, whats the point in marking them with a sharpie? lol So the bullets contrast more against the screen.

I would have to guess it was both the shorter OAL, and that the PD's jacket is harder than the moly coating on the Precisions. The two 3.7gr loads felt about the same, which they were both pretty soft. The 3.5gr feels stupid soft though, even at 138PF.

Shot these last week after trying some loads. Loaded using Precision 147gr FP Moly's and 147gr Precision Delta FMJ. Load Spreadsheet Hope this is helpful for some.

Keeping this simple without an in depth metallurgical discussion, Stainless is an alloy that contains a small amount of regular steel and it will rust. Not as quick or as bad as steel but it will rust. Just like dcarter, I found out Saturday how bad an M&P slide will rust if you forget to oil it.... Thanks Ken. I got some Eezox in the mail yesterday, and I think it will do a pretty good job of protecting the metal; has to be better than CLP.

For Precision Delta's I have loaded out to 1.15" with their 147RN. For the Precision 147FP's I can only load out to 1.12".

For those that have the Cabela's stainless slide, or those that have had theirs bead blasted, what are you doing to protect the bare slide? What products are you using to stave off the rust demons? Thanks

What kind of primers were you using when getting the light strikes? If you weren't using Federals you may want to try some of those as they are a little softer.

Did you bead blast it with the Melonite still there, or was it stripped to bare metal first?

Like water. Spot on 4.6gr with every pull of the handle. I randomly pull a case off the 650 and powder check about 4-5 times per 500 rounds. I have never had a deviation in thousands of rounds with 7625. I reckon I'll have to try some then
