Looks for Match

Looks for Match (2/11)

  1. Just got mine! Got right through too, bump so no one misses the deadline here in a few hours!
  2. Although this was a "safe" A.D., there really is no such thing. It was an accident, a shot that wasn't meant to happen. As an R.O., you're there to enforce the rules and ensure safety. Just because everyone was lucky and this wasn't an issue, still against the rules Not to use an extreme example, but it's OK to drink and drive if I make it home safe and don't damage any persons/property?
  3. Was it production hi-cap Glock mags? or even better, 140mm tuned mags? What about the shooter who had mag's missing? How does that play out?
  4. Also, if you want to get any spare parts, or make any tweaks, Gen 3 parts might be more readily accessible. Any way you can find one of each and try out grip side by side?
  5. You can also use something similar to this: It wouldn't be pretty, but it would probably work... What about a shotgun bandolier? or a modified shotgun sling with the shell loops? Wouldn't recommend as a sling on the shotgun as it will really throw off the weight, but worn like a sash?
  6. Not to mention it's cheaper (in most cases) to shoot .40 instead of .45.
  7. Or glass breaker: http://www.zahal.org/products/%20magazine-floorplate-with-car-glass-breaker Don't laugh, this is on my carry g19, for CQB/defense or glass. Kind of neat, solid, and a good conversation starter! Or perfect for that Glock guy or gal who "has everything."
  8. At work and can't watch, but figured I would post to save it so I can review later. Free bump
  9. I had a 22/45 and sold it because they are extremely difficult to clean/break down.. other than that though, solid gun, some controls were a little tricky, but you'll very quickly make up in ammo what you spend on gun.. Even if you don't train with the exact gun you use, you can still learn the basics: trigger squeeze, sight picture, calling shots, etc..
  10. Double on the Pa locale, west central here
  11. My first match was the mid-Atlantic match years ago: Let the R.O. and squad mates know you're new. They'll all help, (even helped me load my mags after dumping 4 mags at a texas star ) Watch and learn from the other guys (or ladies). Pitch in to help with taping/pasting. That is always appreciated.. During stage walk through, ask questions, or watch how other guys plan the stage. it's always interesting to get ideas from the others around.. I don't know of anyone who ever told me to leave them alone or not respond, and I don't think I would ever discard or ignore any questions from newbie's at matches. That and have fun!
  12. After reading page 1, I was set to take one of my 10rd mag's and a dremel and settling this once and for all. Glad I get to keep all of them now! Mr. Vvrroomm, next time you're in western PA I owe you a beer.
  13. always remember the rule of FORS Front opposite, rear same when adjusting the sights.. Move the front sight opposite of where the bullet is hitting, and the rear sight the same direction you want the bullet to go.
  14. You also want to have spares on hand too, with the mags getting thrown around, dropped, beat up, and with reload practice they can get chewed up.. And nothing worse than being at a match and having a mag fail, especially in production..
  15. I read '24 in competition' as "24 inch competition" and thought whoaaa, that's a glock! As was said, I agree with Dawson's too. Easy on/off, and some of them come with the +power mag springs.. Shoot it first before you worry about major upgrades. As far as springs, develop a good load for it first, then look at the recoil spring, but +power trigger spring and minus power striker spring/lightened striker and plunger spring are usually cheap enough to do now. Look at the minus connector, and look up on here or the youtube about the $0.25 trigger job on a glock. Mag drop comes down to preference, I've never tried but I think the "paddle" style ones would be fun to try: http://www.brownells.com/handgun-parts/frame-parts/magazine-release-parts/magazine-releases/standard-mag-release-for-glock-sku452000001-7580-18856.aspx?ttver=2&utm_medium=shoppingengine&utm_source=shopping&mc_id=17000&gdftrk=gdfV21820_a_7c187_a_7c1021_a_7c452000001_d_452000001_d_10729 I also think that, for much as you'll be taking the slide on and off, these are invaluable: http://www.brownells.com/handgun-parts/frame-parts/slide-catch-parts/slide-catches/extended-slide-lock-lever-for-glock--prod22920.aspx?ttver=2
