  1. Check the overtravel. Having too much overtravel will cause this.
  2. Sorry, no that is not available. We will offer slide to frame fits with our frame and slide. I will have them on the website in a few days.

  5. N105 if you can get it is my favorite, 3N38 is my second choice. Also try 9 or 10 lb recoil spring.
  6. Pretty close. Still a few variables depending on burn rate, barrel, etc.,but pretty close.
  7. To compare you would want the case volume when the bullet is seated to be the same, not the same OAL. Shorter bullet would need to be seated further in. Pressure peaks in the first couple tenths of an inch. Small changes in the amount of case volume can mean big pressure spikes. That's why people worry about setback. Gas volume and pressure both work the comp. High pressure can work as well as lots of gas but more wear and tear on the gun.
  8. Might want to read the directions that come with the grip on how to install the magwell.
  9. I have seen plenty of STI with TG prefix. I have also seen quite a few with a pocketted serial number. Most likely they messed up the serial number and had to re-do. They machine the old number off and put the proper one on.
  10. Those are not STI mags. STI gen 1 mags have 2 ribs running down them on each side. 38 has deep ribs on both sides. 40 has deep ribs on one side and shallow on the other. The mags shown look like they might be older SV mags.
  11. O.D. diameter of the barrel should be 0.695-0.696. The barrel has to be undersize enough to let the barrel cam up in the slide during lockup. Blueprint spec on the slide bore I.D. is 0.699 +0.003. 0.699-0.700 slide I.D. works well with 0.695-0.696 barrel O.D. to allow full lockup with no play.
  12. Chamfer the bottom edge of the barrel ramp a little and roll the right edge a little and then take a little off the high spot on the magazine. I like having the ramp as far to thee rear as possible so that the nose of the bullet contacts the ramp as soon as possible.
  13. the Harvey Tool is measured to the radius on the dovetail and will cut oversize. I do not recommend them.
  14. You did a nice job on it. It is interesting that all the old parts dropped in. That is good information/feedback.

  16. Breechface erosion can be caused by a combination of small rifle primers and light loads. The light load does not provide enough pressure to expand the primer and seal the gas in. It escapes around the primer and burns the breechface. Does not happen all the time but it is something to check for if you are loading light.
  17. You are confusing the mainspring with the sear spring. The mainspring has nothing to do with reset.
  18. Better do it quick because both those guns are being discontinued by STI.
  19. Might want to check your measurements again. I have never seen an STI frame that measured 0.109. They are all between 0.112 and 0.114.
  20. Before you start reaming I would check to see if you are getting primer flow. Overpressure rounds cause primer flow back into the firing pin hole which gets packed into the hole and causes light primer strikes and sticking firing pins. Run a pipe cleaner through the hole and see if you have metal chips on the pipe cleaner afterwards.
  21. You will have to shorten the slide or the comp about 0.020 inch depending on the setup. I would recommend cutting the slide because you will need to cut about 1/2 degree angle to allow for lockup in any case. You will need 0.003 to 0.005 inch clearance between the comp and the slide when you get done.
  22. We align ream and crown them also on the ones we cut from blanks.
  23. The Trubor blanks are rifled (bore diameter) through the entire comp section so they definitely need to be align reamed at some point. We do it after machining and before they leave the shop but it never hurts to check it just in case.
  24. They do have the shorter 9mm follower. You can try it out but I would not recommend it. It would be better with a 38 super follower.
