  2. MG bullets have had major problems out of there latest batches . There are a Lot of people complaining and it doesn't seem that Montana Gold is going to do anything about it. A recent test proved it for me , drastic results from old stock to new stock with the only thing changing is the bullets. Bad thing is Montana gold sent me 1k to replace mine and they were just as bad. Now they will not answer the emails, Lord knows they won't answer the phone !! These bullets are DANGEROUS flyers , velocity spikes , comp damage. I see a big law suit if they don't do something quick or worse someone gets killed because who knows where they are going.
  3. Pardon my ignorance, I am new to reloading. I am wanting to know if there is such a bullet (.30) that would work well in multiple applications. Basically I have a few rifles I would like to purchase one bullet for. These will be used as target loads on paper for groups. And if so is there a good bullet I can use for hunting that will work good in the different rifles ( I am looking for both a hunting bullet and a target for different rifles/ calibers) . The Rifles and calibers: Remington 700- .308 Armalite Super SASS AR10 - .308 Remington 700- .30-06 Remington 700- .300WinMag Question number 2 I am also looking for a good over all bullet in .308 for plinking out of my carbine AR10, 3 gun style shooting with 3 gun accuracy in mind . Final thing , is there a powder I may can run in all 3 or at least the .300WinMag and .30-06? I figure I may not find one for all 3 because of burn rate with the case size but I can at least wish.
  4. I have been wanting to try this, where did you get your info? I have researched some but there is a lot of variations in how this or that concoction work with good or bad success . They look great!
  5. As a mechanic that's what my thought was , if it were to move slightly then the gas tube would "lock" it from going any farther . I don't know where I got the locktite from but glad I had second thoughts. Thanks guys!!
  6. I am putting a few uppers together, My question is whether to put locktite on the barrel nut . My concern is when it comes time to remove it, I have a good receiver block but I am afraid that the aluminum will give when it comes time to remove it. Also if it is recommended then blue or red ? On one receiver I am putting a JP handguard on it and it says to put red on the adapter and anti-seize on barrel nut side . That's not too bad because I probably won't change the hand guard and will be able to get the barrel out . Is there any point in using the blue ? Or is it pointless ? Any recommendations ?
  7. Thanks guys !! It was definitely the pin. I had another stripped upper , same issue but with a few taps with rubber mallet PERFECTION
  8. It's very very close, but I am afraid of splitting the aluminum
  9. One other thing I forgot to mention , when I bought the blackout barrel I also bought a Daniel Defenae SBR barrel, it fits perfect. Snug, but goes in by hand . I guess that's why I am concerned , 2 DD barrels one works other dont.
  10. I THOUGHT I WOULD BUILD A .300BLK, SEEMS EASY ENOUGH SWAP BARRELS AND DONE RIGHT ? SO I PURCHASED A DANIEL DEFENSE BARREL TO MATCH THE RIFLE I WANTED TO USE IT ON. I THEN DECIDED TO GO AHEAD AND BUILD A DEDICATED UPPER. SO I THEN ALSO PURCHASED A DANIEL DEFENSE UPPER RECEIVER . WHEN ALL THE PARTS CAME IN I WAS READY TO ASSEMBLE I THOUGHT. I SLID THE BARREL INTO THE RECEIVER TO FIND THAT THE ALIGNMENT PIN ON THE BARREL WOULD NOT FULLY SEAT INTO THE RECEIVER. I THEN FIGURED I WOULD CALL DD AND THEY WOULD TELL ME WHAT TO DO. BUT IT'S NOT THAT EASY , NOBODY IN WEAPON RELATED ANYTHING IS EASY TO TALK TO, HECK YOU CAN'T EVEN CALL MIDWAY RIGHT NOW!!! I WILL POST PICS TONIGHT IF I NEED TOO. THANKS FOR ANY HELP ON HOW TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM AND WHY I HAVE THIS PROBLEM TREY
  11. Welcome!! I live in Gallatin and also a member at GGC. Any info found on here is generally backed by lots of research or testing and can be trusted. Trey
  12. I need a good, mess free separator. Who makes the best and why? What's the differences or are they all about the same?
