Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Buy once, cry once. You've undoubtedly read it here before. The TK Custom clips may be more expensive, but they sure hold my rounds nice and tight and I can notice the difference in reloading. I have them for .45 GAP, .45ACP and 38Starline SC and I'm typically a cheapskate. You won't regret it.
  2. If you are going to be an SO or MD, you sure ought to have a rule book and know it! That is a basic rule that all SO's should know. That is ridiculous. Revolvers don't have to fit in the box. Gives the rest of the spray and prayers some room to whine about the advantage that Revos get.
  3. Good to have another revo man on board. Where do you shoot IHMSA?
  4. I checked and I'm using the standard dillon taper die. Steve
  5. Do a search for moonclips no go in this forum. You will find the thread. Lee said he was going to set up as a vendor on BE but I don't know if he ever did.
  6. Gosh, that happened to me in match. The gun made a little bunny fart. That is weird enough. I opened the cylinder, got a mess of gunpowder and then looked down and saw a bullet on the ground. It took me a few seconds to put it all together. I could pull a moon clip after shooting four rounds and see how far the bullet extended. An ACP round probably would have bound the cylinder, but the GAP isn't long enough and just falls out when they cylinder rotates. I was using Bayou and Barry's bullets. I ended up tightening the crimp (I know - it is there to take the bell out). I would push on a round against my wood workbench and when it got to the point that I could not push it in anymore, I stopped. No more problems after that. Good luck. Steve
  7. Those moon clip checkers are nice in that they will tell you that the loaded moon clip will go in the cylinder, but will they if a clip is bent all the time? Have you ever had a loaded moon clip that go in the checker, but not work in the gun (like keep the cylinder from closing or rotating)? That may be a good way to go. Thanks, Steve
  8. I have one of those, but I don't believe that is what Greg and I are asking about. Lee made these gauges, like square of aluminum or steel that we bolted together like a layer cake, that had slots. One slot was for 0.40 and the other for 0.25. Drop your moon clip in and if it went through it was good. It if hung up, it was bent.
  9. Revolverjockey (lee) made some at one time. I'd like one too but seems too busy these days. May be worth trying asking again. Steve
  10. Pretty sure Ed was Fancy, not Furious. 10-4. You are correct. Fancy. But certainly not a "expert" gun magazine writer by any stretch. Good book by the way.
  11. I guess it is something to think about but as a good example of frequently repeated nonsense. I grin when when "expert" gun magazine writers put it in print. The cylinder starts AND stops each time the trigger is pulled. Successive shots only "feel easier" (and are easier) because the you have fewer bullets in the cylinder making it progressively lighter. A Ti 625 cylinder loaded with rds with 230 gr bullets wieghs the same as an empty SS cylinder. Does make the trigger easier to pull fast. Hey now. Don't be busting on Ed. He was not an "expert" gun magazine writer. Ed was "the man" when it came to revolver shooting. He walked the talk. Check out his book "Fast and Furious Revolver Shooting". I don't know that there has been anyone like him with DAO revolvers. Peace out, Steve
  12. Hey lee, I shot with a gentleman this weeken that had his 627 .38 super converted to 9 mm. He was very accurate with it. His rounds did feel loose in the moonclips tho. But I don't think that they were the nice hearthco clips. Steve
  13. Any revolver shooters plan on shooting the upcoming South Carolina sectional?
