Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Brass punch covered with tape and a hammer makes an excellent sight adjustment tool for my M&P 5" pro.. The sight moves easily.
  2. I have some older toolhead stands at are metal and not painted blue. Looking at the pictures of new toolhead stands, I see they are blue, but cannot tell if they are still metal or plastic from the picture.. Can someone let me know?
  3. I would email Dan obviously and see what he thinks. Make sure the firing pin channel is clean, and free of oil/etc. Wonder if the sear modification moved the striker forward a bit.
  4. I think we can consider this issue resolved. I deprimed about 50 cases with the updated bracket without any spilled primers. Thanks Dillon!
  5. I had re-used the bracket from the previous strong mount, but also have a new bracket that came with the strong mount I bought a few weeks ago. Looking at the two parts, they are different, so I just swapped to the newer bracket. It does look like it will work better. Less gap between the primer drop tube and the cup.
  6. And I have some titegroup. My only concern was the amount will be way down around 3.1gr for a 147gr bullet. Way cost effective, but not much room for error, and probably a bit snappier than a slower powder.
  7. Yes, but good luck finding it in stock anywhere local.
  8. Finally making the jump from factory ammo to reloading, and want to standardize on 147gr bullets for IDPA since many report the heavier bullet has softer recoil and better for steel. Trying to find a good powder, some basic requirements. 1. Must be readily available in bulk, 4/8 LB cans. - Eliminates VV320 2. Clean burning I've been using titegroup for 124gr, but seems to be too fast a powder for 147gr, even though I did find some load data for it. Popular options seem to be; WSF PowerPistol Universal clays Solo 1000 231/HP-38
  9. I wanted an easy way to add more light for inspecting powder charge before I place each bullet. Found a cheap book light at amazon that works excellent for this. Clamps to the press mount, and then has a gooseneck so you can position the light anywhere you want. Perfect for looking into each case. http://www.amazon.com/Mighty-Bright-TravelFlex-Light-Black/dp/1935009362/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1303082322&sr=8-7
  10. Thanks for the info. I saw in another post someone had a chute made out of a piece if 9mm brass.
  11. I loaded up a couple hundred 124g RN @ 4.0 TG 1.16 OAL. I am going to shoot them in the AM if the rain stops. From my test batch they did shoot pretty good groups. I just did not have enough to get a good sample. Like to hear the results of this. I just loaded up a few hundred 124GR RN Frontier plated with 4.0TG. OAL is about 1.145. Hoping this will make > 125PF out of a 5" M&P
  12. One more thing, the press was just recently rebuilt by Dillon, so all parts should be in good working order.
